Royce Da 5'9" Hints At Slaughterhouse/Shady Deal

Slaughterhouse's Royce Da 5'9" has a history with Eminem. The two were friends, partners in rhyme and allies. After a falling out, the two made amends and this landed Slaughter behind Slim during the "Forever" video. Needless to say, this only sparked speculation that Slaughterhouse would soon sign with Shady Records for their sophomore album.

Recently, a lot more has been said regarding this signing. Joe Budden announced that label politics were holding the deal up. Joell Ortiz also vented his frustrations about the matter.

Now, Royce has leaked Bar Exam 3's "Nobody Fuckin' With Us," a track that only adds fuel to these rumors of a Slaughterhouse/Shady connection.

"Shady," he says on the leak. "Got a nice ring to it, huh? Don't that shit sound so good coming from me?"

"If you like the white boy, then your ass might as well start liking me too, because from here on out, anytime you see him, you're going to see me too."

This comes after Eminem's Twitter comment about "big news...coming soon," a sign that some fans are taking to mean that the Shady/Slaughterhouse deal will be formally announced soon, although it has not been officially confirmed as of yet.

LOL if this is the big news Em was talking about, aren't you suppose to hype your own album first? Slaughterhouse is a dope underground crew but nothing more, i doubt their going to bring something fresh to the table.

Yeah heard this yesterday. Royce also retweeted someone who said something about bad meets evil part 2, so whoooo knows? Hopefully Slaughter will get signed to SR and they'll announce R2 first single name or date or release date somethin the same day.

I very much doubt the 'big news' Em... Paul posted on Em's twitter is about that.

Slaughterhouse are barely known outside of hip-hop... Still barely known IN hip-hop. It's only big news to committed hip-hop fans.

So I really can't see them posting that on Eminem's main twitter account with hundreds of thousands of followers. As high profile as he is, him signing a small hip-hop group still establishing themselves in the game is not big news to joe public.

You're just assuming because you and a section of hip-hop fans (myself included) know who they are and have from day one because we follow hip-hop that everybody does.

There's a lot of fringe fans, casual fans and most of all JOE PUBLIC. I'm talking about the big picture here. ROYCE DA 5'9" isn't very well known if we're talking on a big scale, let alone Slaughterhouse.

Them signing to Shady would not be 'BIG NEWS' especially when it's been assumed and hinted at for months. I very very very much doubt they'd post that to Em's main twitter as big news, knowing magazines (which they have) etc. will pick up on it as speculation for Relapse 2. Knowing that's what everybody is waiting for.

But to say everybody in hip-hop knows who they are is ridiculous. I've spoken to a lot of hip-hop fans who haven't heard of legends so for you to think a group who formed last year and have sold 18k albums are known by everybody in hip-hop is totally absurd.

Of course we and many fans who follow hip-hop closely know who they are. But that is not 'most' people. It's not even 'most' hip-hop fans and definitely not everybody. A lot of hip-hop fans follow a few artists or just check for a certain roster and take a long time catching up to the obsessives.

Slaughterhouse are still virtually unkown in the big scheme of things. So them signing to Shady is not big news. It's big news for fans of them but it's not big news to the 500k Eminem twitter fans there.
