Oh and one or two of you mentioned something about trying to make my voice sound different than it really is.. There's a story behind this.

What happened is, when I first bought my mic for some reason it wouldn't pick up my regular voice correctly.. It would have really random hisses and shit that I couldn't get rid of. After hours of trying to fix it I tried sounding slightly different (Lyricide), and I ended up actually liking how it came out so I kept using it. Later on while recording "Sorry," which was made for a chick I've had a really extensive and confusing past with, I decided I wanted to use my regular voice since it was a kind of emotional song, and somehow I got it to master correctly. For some reason I couldn't stop using the more rumble-filled voice for tracks though.

Tracks which don't include any sort of voice change:

"Sorry"
"Lay Myself To Rest" (Other than the first 2 bars of my verse that purposely were made to sound different from the rest)
"Army of The Departed" is sort of a hybrid
"SVP Forever" (I'm verse 8 btw)
"Keep Flying"
"You Know it (Ready To Ride)"
"Make You Phade" (Other than the regular intro talking and hook)
Edit: "Self-Titled" forgot that one

I've slowly been pushing away from it, but like I said, I enjoy doing it.. And I enjoy the way it laces a lot of tracks

i know I might take half an Ice Age to return the feed. but I found a bit of time so I'll listen to some songs and let ya know.

too many feats for a first tape man (even if you've done more before, its the first time on this or ANY new forum and may not attract the listener as much)

you change your voice throughout the tape.

Lyricide is interesting... the vibe of it reminds me of Knoc Turn'al, a more lyrical version... and who's... are you all verses??.... well... anyways, its a pro track and very sick delivery and lyrics on the second verse.

The I wanna rock remix is cool, another voice?... ... and verse 2 another voice?.. like more raspy and shit.... either way the song is nice cuz well, its well written, well flowed, great punches, but... kinda fake.

Lay Myself to rest.... pffft... Soundclick beats :n: .... you verse 1??... even if u used a lot of voices before this doesnt sound like you. so I guess you where verse 2.... ah... It just hit me, you remind me a lot of Project Deadman, speacially on this track. again I like the vibe and the whole emotion but... I dont know but this kinda fits better.. :y: I like it. Verse 3 was the best, sick lyrics.

btw, all your verses have been pretti well mixed so far, I like that a lot cuz it makes it enjoyable to listen.

Freemasonry, tiiiiight. is this another voice? this one is the one you should stick too, this one sounds sick. the flow on verse 1 and the hook or bridge or w/e is the best so far I have heard. sounds real, the whole vibe and emotion of it makes it sound raw, real underground, the shit I like to hear. Verse 2, is it the same guy... hmm... its still good, great song. the beat is also great. excelent track... oh its not over... oh thats you hahaha, verse 3 then. oh... Hmm... the rhymes where cool, flow too and all that shit, but it kinda took the enjoyment I was having out of the track, you dont sound natural at all.

some tracks I didnt listen to completely, but it cought a glimpse of all the tracks and well, selected this for the feed. Also I thought "sorry" was cool... but I forgot to put that. Overall. very nice indeed, good mixtape. and you remind me of myself back in the days when I had my raspy voice and shit, it was like listening to an old album of mine hahaha, I liked that. but now I have gotten more relaxed and more natural and I like it, and it has paid back, so I suggest you do the same.

what standed out the most where your lyrics throughout the tape, excelent way of writing and flowing them, you got the skill to do that, and thats a big part of what a rapper should. But you still sound like you havent found yourself in. as a whole, I didnt saw a bit of originality, except ironically in your emotion and diferent voices. but are going to scare the fans man, seriously. now take notice that Im not saying that you have to change that, no.... you have to be that. You have to find a true meaning in that and accomodate it iproperly in your style. like on your Lay Myself to Rest, that sounded dope like that.

Good mixing, not a lot of replay values, but def the ones that deserve it are great. you are not bad, not at all.... but contrary to what many believe its not only the lyrics and the beat what make a song.

keep it up... and I agree with the guy who said that your not ready for an album... but listen to this. You CAN and SHOULD do an un-official album.... you know.... like a pro mixtape hahaha. But I would still try to perfect any flaws and find a fitting style before exposure. thats the best advice I can give you. Dont rush anything, it something should come.... it will.

Thanks for having a listen ax.. and yeah one of my more recent posts in the topic should explain the voice thing :8)

I'm attempting to pull an all nighter because all weekend I've been waking up at like 6 pm, and I need to be able to go back to work Thursday haha, so I'll definitely hit your stuff up soon.. Pretty sure I saw a thread with your name on it.

Edit: All I saw was a one song thread actually, did you have anything longer to check out or you want me to just hit Wonderland?

Jaz wrote:It really must be a different breed of people here at trshady haha.. Not knocking your opinions, but I've posted my shit on myspace forums, soundclick forums, shadowville forums, here, and several random sites that I forget what they are, and this is the only one where one, let alone multiple people didn't like my music.

reading through this entire topic and listening to 2 songs on your myspace, all i can say is the fact that everyone everywhere else likes your music and people here don't (i didn't think it was bad, didn't think it was that great though, listen to what chambers wrote, what he said was right imo) is kinda interesting, but the fact that u got like 4k plays on myspace, no record deal, nothing, you should be happy people on here are being critical, if they weren't you'd never improve, even those rappers selling millions get criticized all the time, so take it for what it is :y:

Again, I repeat, I have absolutely no problem with what Chambers has said. I simply disagreed with some of it. The only people who are blatant douchebags are clas and siiniide..

Eyy man. I thought your shit was pretty dope.

I was really feelin Lyricide and Sorry. If i had to rate your tape then I'd probably give you a 8.5/10..The only thign that i wasnt really into was your 16 minute song. WHich i have not taken the time to listen to. I heard the forever beat start playing and i switched it up.

Other than that, I like how you switched up your styles, and i noticed a change of voice on a couple different tracks, i dont know if you did that intentinally or not, but i thought it was pretty sick. Anyways, dope shit mane, I'll definitly check out your next tape if you bring another one out..

Thanks man.. I'll also probably be droppin' some other artist's mixtapes/albums in upcoming weeks that I worked with. Be on the lookout, a lot of dope emcees!

Edit: Also on that forever track, It's like 12 different emcee's.. Not all of which are that great (I didn't set the track up, thus it's a bonus track).. Most of them are pretty ill though. Anyway I'm verse 7 in it I believe.. around 8 minutes in.
