TES is arguably (yes arguably) his best album. However in terms of controversy and spitting shit without giving a fuck, the music did start to go a little softer in this respect. He has even said that himself. Not that I think thats a bad thing, by the way, it was just him growing as a person.

I love TES, but compared to SSLP and especially MMLP it falls short. It's real simple to me. The lyrics aren't as good, Em's flow is mostly quite simple and the beat's are a little to poppy rock for me. Don't get me wrong, TES is def in my top 15 albums of all time, but no where near as good as Em's previous work. Actually, if we're only talking about lyrics, straight spitten and delivery, Relapse is better then TES. But i like TES more as an album though.

Well, I don't care really what you're like on the inside and I just really want you to come to bed with me. Would you do that if you could? Even if you were just average on the outside (but not fat) I could like you if you sounded smart.

My list goes:

1. MMLP
2. SSLP
3. TES

TES was too "poppy" in my opinion. I like the more dirty shit that were on MMLP and SSLP.
But some songs on TES are masterpieces!

lol some people mentioned it's 'poppier', that's on point, it was definitely made in more 'pop' direction, which made it easier to ears, but doesn't standout and edgy like his previous works.

WOW HAHAHA its def 2 yrs after this when his decline began......This if anything, was his peak! It is def his best work as a whole album, its a masterpiece except for Drips.....Dnt get me wrong I love Drips & he needed to promote Obie, but wouldnt if of been a perfect album if Stimulate or even Lady was replaced with Drips????? MMLP is rele close but there are jus some extremely powerful, deep, emotional, personal passion in this record that the MMLP jus falls a lil short, BARELY THO! iF IN TERMS OF RAW EMOTIONS & THAT PSYCHO INSANE LYRICS THEN MMLP GETS THE CROWN :worship:

I'm only entertaining you
My goal is to stimulate, making you high
And take you and I
To a place you can't see
But I believe you can fly
I don't mean nobody harm, I'm just partying
I'm not your dad, not your mom, not your guardian
Just a man who's on the mic
So let me entertain you...

Exactly. :y:

Geno wrote:For me, Em has always been the same. He doesn't get better, he doesn't get worse, he just switches things up.

The SSLP isn't comparable to any other albums. Neither is the MMLP. You can't compare them, they're all very different. People might not like Encore because as an album it wasn't on par with TES, but for me I just think of it as Em trying something new. He'd already achieved star status and done as much as he could have at that point.

I like all his albums for what they are, and I'm glad they don't all sound like SSLP or MMLP, etc.. It'd get boring.

Just my opinion.

I very much agree... but Encore was terrible... The worst of Em's career
