Actually, if we're only talking about lyrics, straight spitten and delivery, Relapse is better then TES

Exactly. :y:

The SSLP isn't comparable to any other albums. Neither is the MMLP. You can't compare them, they're all very different. People might not like Encore because as an album it wasn't on par with TES, but for me I just think of it as Em trying something new. He'd already achieved star status and done as much as he could have at that point.

I like all his albums for what they are, and I'm glad they don't all sound like SSLP or MMLP, etc.. It'd get boring.

Just my opinion.

I very much agree... but Encore was terrible... The worst of Em's career

TES was definently more mainstream than the previous two, but that doesn't equal worse. When ranking, I always put MMLP at the top and then go back and forth between SSLP and TES.

He matured and peaked on TES. MMLP may have had the controversy, the anger but TES had the reflection, the frustration and the best album theme ever.

I don't think so.
MMLP and TES are the best albums that em has released imo.
I don't think TES is bad at all.

No, The Eminem Show is his best album. It's as close to flawless as he's come.

It may not be as influential or... Substantial, artistically, as The Marshall Mathers LP but it has top to bottom superb lyricism and production. He totally outdid himself.

It's his PEAK IMO not the start of his decline. Encore was the start of his decline but then he quit for a bit and has come back energized so we didn't see much of a stailpatch. But TES is CERTAINLY not it.

He took his lyricism to new heights, all this talk of him going soft there makes no sense, if anything he got more defensive, aggressive and subversive. He went from the odd sarcastic mention of a real-life incident to calling out members of the White House and deeming himself a public enemy worthy of national mention.

It was a complete step forward and I think anybody who doesn't think that, doesn't understand or hasn't paid attention to the blisteringly stunning detail and effort of the lyricism on it.

It's #2, 3, or 4 for me. #1 is undoubtedly The MMLP, and I go back and forth between The Eminem Show, The Black Album, and Ready to Die.

ppl jump on The Black Album ...why ?

Jay-Z's best, and really only classic album is Reasonable Doubt, without a doubt haha

as for Eminem Show, it'll always be number 2 of Eminem's albums to me, MMLP just means more to me i guess

obviously its all about your own opinion. for people who first listened to Em when he came out with the SSLP that is always gonna hold a special place in our hearts. MMLP gave you everything you love in Eminem. the great energy, flow, rhyme schemes, story telling, witty humor and just insane lyrics. its was so edgy and full of controversial stuff. the SSLP was just so rugged and different. thats what makes the SSLP so great. as for TES, its just a culmination of his success. i like many other people wish he kept up with the JDGAF attitude he had on MMLP but you cant always get what you want. TES has its moments, with songs like souldier, till i collapse, SFTM, and say good bye. but you can tell the whole style changed. Even though it changed from SSLP to MMLP it wasnt as drastic at is was moving onto TES. so yes, it was to poppy and didnt have anything from his first to cds which made them so great. there are no real stories being told. something i love in SSLP. almost every song is a story.

so its SSLP, MMLP, Relapse, TES the Encore.
