Says the single with Jay-Z will be out in the next 2 weeks, and that Detox will "definitely" be released this year. Obviously Dre doesn't have the recent track record to be completely trusted when he says that... but if its true, what does this mean for the release of R2?

I certainly hope not. Hopefully a Summer release for R2 and a Winter release for Detox is still possible. Could be better promotion if both albums are being promoted at relatively the same time.

This is great news! I've been waiting for Detox for quite some time now... Just excited to see it being finally put out. But the thing is, I think Dr.Dre will put out like two singles (with some space between them), to let the general public know who Dr.Dre is, and that he really is back - he hasn't been around for like a decade (with his own material that is). So, as I see it, R2 still has a shot of being released prior to Detox. But, we'll see how it evolves in the next couple of weeks…
