Dre confirms Detox in 2010...What does this mean for R2

im like 90percent positive r2 drops in may or june...tours ..the big news soon..producers on the album sayin its done..d12 sayin its done...damn just blaze isnt even in detroit no more...cover art and release date in 2 weeks at the latest...mr porter said on november 20 2009 that the album was coming to a close---and now its 5 months later.....hes fuckin finished quit being in denial people---and oh yeah the snippets of r2 songs at the nas lisyening party....theres actually a lot of info about r2 being finished....so yeah...patience

I didnt read anything in this thread just wanna add my 2 cents.

I saw this video earlier...(dre looked so nervous on cnbc)

If dre is releasing a single in the next 2 weeks, they could be pushin relapse 2 back.

Here's my reasoning.

Relapse 2 is taking too long, they wanna release detox before people just give up on it all together...And dre might finally be happy with it.

Releasing detox will tide people over who enjoy dre and eminem since eminem will def. be on detox and then eminem is gettin that bobby ray feature as well...so that could possibly be 3-4 eminem verses.

This will give eminem fans something to chew on for a couple more months while eminem finishes r2 and detox will sell like crazy so that will give interscope their money.

If people really like eminems verses on detox and shit then that could result in more sales for eminem say...for all the people who were gunna buy detox and not buy r2 cuz they dont like eminem much after r1, then seeing that he kills his verses on detox..so now they will buy r2.

Just a thought though. You heard it here first....maybe?

I see what your saying - it would actually make sense. Except;

1. Detox is Dr.Dre's first studio album in about ten years. There is a whole new generation of rap fans today, of whom, many might not be aware of Dr.Dre, or at least not know much about him (except that he's a producer). Sad but true. My point is, Dr.Dre needs to prove he still got it, he needs to get back in the public eye - to an extent, it’s like starting over from the beginning -> he will probably put out at least two singles before the album – receiving hopefully a lot of airplay, building up a hype - then we’ll have a release date.

2. Dre said that Detox ”definitely will be out this year” - he did not say that it will be out before the summer. He also got asked what projects he’s working on, and he was like: “this is what I’m working on [Detox] right now”. Also, do anyone of you remember that Mr. Porter said that he was going back in the studio, soon, with Dre, Em, Game etc for a whole month (this is most certainly not for R2, but for Detox, I’d say)

3. Kuniva said something like: “R2 is ready to go” for a couple of week back on a radio interview. Bizarre was also asked about R2 and gave pretty much the same answer as Kuniva did.

4. In an interview for a couple of weeks ago, Just Blaze supposedly said that he was going back to Detroit with Em, wrapping up R2. - R2 was a “pinch of salt” away from being finished.

5. The week before D12 went on their Canadian tour, they had to finish a track for R2 - “the pressure is on” Kuniva said. A couple of weeks later, in the same interview that Kuniva & Bizarre claimed that R2 was “ready to go”, they also confirmed a D12 track on R2, ‘Hit Me With Your Best Shot’. Why couldn’t they’ve had finished the track when they got back from the tour, if the album was planned to come out after the summer?...

6. On April 29, Eminem (or at least his account) announced through Twitter, that: “And don’t worry. Some big news is coming. Soon” - as I see it, it could only be referring to R2/Single.

7. Eminem is headlining three European festivals this July, I really doubt he’ll headlining three major festivals with over a year old R1 tracks. + Remember, Em knows that the “accent” or his style in general on R1, wasn’t very well received by the rap audience, in general - Since, he’s also admitted that the tracks he’s been making lately have a higher standard than those he made for Relapse.


These are the reasons I can see R2 being put out before Detox – Agree or Disagree?
