Current version of Jay-Z? Yeah, though Royce kinda sucks now too. In his prime, Jay-Z was better...A comparable lyricist with a more effortless sounding flow.

Dre started the beef, really.

Royce's manager said "Em sits Dre down like a pupil sometimes" so Dre told Royce to fire his manager and Royce was like, quite rightly, no, thats my manager, friend etc. So thats what started the falling out.

D12 came out with the first diss track (Back Down Royce) after Royce sent them a song he'd recorded for The Anger Management mixtape which had the line "Fuck anger management, I need someone to manage my anger". D12 took it the wrong way, told Em who backed them and then it escalated.

Em could have easily put a stop to it, as he didnt get involved once (cept that half diss on the Green Lantern mixtape) but if he'd just phoned up Royce and told 'em to stop the bullshit, it woulda been stopped. But no, he didnt nothing about it.

Not to mention the fact Royce asked to be signed to SR and Em said he was too busy, yet he had enough time to sign 50 a week later.

I've always kept the stance that Royce was in the right, Em could have EASILY stopped it at any point but he didnt.

The only thing Royce did wrong was making a diss track - Shit On You (Remix) - before the beef even happened. But the beef did happen so he needed it the end lol.

I find it amazing that D12 and Royce are working together fine now. I mean, you can tell Royce meant what he said when he said about them being garbage.
