^ I wasn't around that time but did this even chart? and if it's a 'major hit' like you said why there are people don't know about it, I don't think anyone has ever mentioned this song before either.

I think he means in terms of rap fans not hit the commercial world. I mean, I doubt I'd know anyone who's even heard of him.
