I don't listen to Underground Rap because it doesn't appeal to my ears. But I just get angry when Pac isn't even you guys's top 10 and some other Underground nobodys are there. IMO

Regardless of popularity I don't listen to 2pac because

A.) I can't relate to it
B.) It doesn't appeal to my ears
C.) His flow isn't exactly superb or anything amazing
D.) He doesn't have the lyrical complexity/genius like the "Underground Nobodies" to make up for the first 3 faults.

What do ya know, 2pac lacks all of the reasons I would even listen to a rapper :coffee:

A) Most people relate to it
B) Big surprise :o
C) He has great flow not as good as Big or Em but it's really good flow
D) He has the raw emotion that can make up for the 3 faults IYO and you can't deny it. Plus he's lyrically one of the best of the 90's. IMO again but most people would agree.

have you even listened to 10 rappers? like intently, an album at least from each

I've listened to plenty of rappers. Few underground though. Hook me up with 10 underground rapper and their songs and I'll tell you what I think.

@PK What I meant by that is that most rappers wouldn't have been inspired to rap if it wasn't for Pac. When he dies everyone wanted to be a rapper and some made it. Rap today sucks cock so yeah

Pac is good. He is, but he's been elevated to a status above that of which he deserves.

He had a personality that made him an all around celebrity. As a person, he was an intelligent, and thoughtful man. Truely a passionate artists, and one that was concerned with many issues that plagued his people.

However.

His all-around artist status, that is of greatness, is not the same as his MC qualities.

His qualities as an MC are lacking in certain aspects. Granted, his flow was better than many on the West Coast at the time, along with his content, but East Coast emcees were better developed than him in this aspect. His emotion was great, true. However, that doesn't necessarily make him a great MC. It enables him to be a well-rounded artist, but not necessarily a great lyricist.

His lyrical presence wasn't "one of the best" of the nineties either. While much of the West Coast couldn't really fuck with him in that aspect, the rest of the country was more advanced than him, by far.

Pac gets too much credit as a rapper, but not enough credit as an artistic person (on this board, anyway).

A.) Yes, but I'm not black, I don't claim to be a thug, I'm not oppressed by society, I did not grow up in the hood, I'm not contemplating my imminent death, I'm not an abused spouse/women, my pimp never called me a "hoe", I didn't get shot 5 times and blaming my former friend for setting me up, I'm not in jail, and the feds aren't watching me. Hence why [iI[/i] don't listen to him, why he isn't in my top 10, and why I don't relate to him.

B.) Not really. His beat selection skills weren't amazing, his voice got annoying as fuck at times and like I said, his flow isn't exactly superb.

C.) There are easily 20-30 rappers with better flows though, so this is no reason to make it into a top 10.

D.) Not really. I know he's passionate and you're right, I can't deny it, but that doesn't make up for the fact that I still don't like his music. And Nas, Jay, a few members of Wu-Tang, early Outkast, Guru, KRS One & Rakim all had better lyrics for me.

He was good and I won't deny it, but he's not better than Em or Biggie, and I don't place him near my top 10.

But that's what made Pac considered as the best. His passion and emotion and the important shit he was talking about while Nas was babbling whatever on Illmatic and Biggie was speaking on how he was the Big Poppa. P.S Biggie and Nas had good subject matter at times but what Pac said in each and evry song was relevant and was stuff back then people could relate and go to for comfort.

Lyrically Biggie and Nas were better than Pac. Same goes flow-wise.

As an all round artist and MC Pac was better than them.

Well, I'm done here since everyone seems to think Pac is undeserving of Top 10. And no one is backing me up :'(

Anyways R.I.P Pac. Don't listen to them ;)

Cool, so you listen to rap to vibe and relate to the music. That doesn't make an artist all around better, that makes him better for you, suited for you, and that makes him your favorite rapper. That is your emotions speaking, not the rapper's "skills". But like I said, I can't relate to him, and not everyone in the 90s related to him either, so that can't be used as a fall-back for his previously listed faults.

XRay you live in the past, your taste in rap expired circa '98.

Nah. I'm not interested in modern Hip Hop. I don't care for it cause it got too soft, and repetitive as fuck. Rappers on homo beats, spitting the first mutli that comes to mind, so predictable that I just don't care for it. All these new artists don't have what it takes to make it legendary status, and a rapper without a legendary status isn't a rapper worthy of being on a top 10 list. I've checked out enough of EA's stuff to make up my mind. He's nothing special behind youtube. I wouldn't buy his CD if HE paid for it. It seems to me, kids on the net these days think which ever rapper spits lyrics, is dope. Whatever though idc for opinions on my opinions lol.

Get the fuck outta here. Prodigy made history, only history EA will ever make is on his browser...lol.

In 10 years time, I'd like to see any kid remember EA's name. :y:

Fuck it that's too long, he couldn't even keep up in 5 years time lol just wait and see.

Lotta EA dickriders on this board.

PS: Fuck any EA fan just for being an EA fan.

laughed at your own joke? desperation

and Prodigy was the most repetitive fuck, and isn't even good enough to be overrated

and dick riding Ea? we're supporting someone who's actually relevant and not past prime fucks and dead people

"fuck the dead like necrophilia" - Chino XL

You can support whoever the fuck you want, that's none of my business. But you acting all egoistic and posting your top 10 like your some Hip Hop king pin and then mentioning EA in that list, and not Biggie or Pac (who made global impact in the world of Hip Hop EVEN TILL NOW) and then mentioning EA is better than Prodigy, and dissing the past like the future just popped outta nowhere with their styles is what's funny. Seriously, slap yourself a couple of times and stfu before you type some more dumb shit. And quite frankly I don't give a fuck about you checking out my tracks, that's always been an excuse for me to not state how I feel towards your stupidity but I can't help it anymore. You're a fucking idiot when it comes to Hip Hop.
