To be honest, when R1 came out, I went through months of just hating it because I was really hoping for the old Shady.
But once I finally embraced it (and Forever/DtW soon followed) I found that lyrically -- he is light years ahead.
Now, outside of DtW we really haven't seen that fire burning inside of him yet -- but I'd be willing to bet that Em is really coming back in R2. He knows what we want and he's past his warm up stage.
I think his style on R2 is going to combine his old vocals (like The Way I Am/'Till I Collapse) with his new absolutely jaw-dropping word play. Obviously, he won't necessarily sound the same, due to how his voice has changed in the last half decade, but he'll still have that fire in it.
I hope that made any sense
But in short, I like both styles equally. They both give me a different high. But they can totally be combined, which is bound to happen on R2.
