I honestly just think he was saying 'son of bitch' in the casual sense. He really puts effort into writing in a conversational sense in that song. I don't think he was intentionally trying to do what has happened there.

no i'm pretty damn sure he meant it like that...it's obvious that he was trying to use wordplay there because the first few bars have nothing to do with the actual song.

Yeah, I think I have to lean towards what Tash said, it would seem to be random but the first lines do seem like a set-up now, but I'm def not ruling out it just being used as a term and not for anything else.

You missed the point. I wasn't calling "My Darling" a classic, it was just an example of when he does that. He starts off irrelevant all the time.

Just because he calls the male dog, 'son of a bitch'...he's not calling the dog a bitch, he's saying the dog's mother is a bitch right? Therefore the phrase, 'son of a bitch', doesn't mean he's calling the male dog a female term
