Wow, I never realized how few classics he produced!
There's only 3 truly exceptional songs, in my opinion, produced by Dre:
"Evil Deeds", "Déjà Vu", and "Stay Wide Awake".

I would add Remember Me to that list.

I still believe, along with The Neptunes' production on Clipse's Hell Hath No Fury , that The Chronic is the best produced rap album ever. But I agree, Relapse's production was boring. Solid but boring.

Illmatic and Black on Both Sides have more interesting production than that album. In fact there are many albums that trump it in production IMO. Dre isn't top of any list in my book.

This ain't the comedy section, buddy.

So why are you trying to be funny?

I might ask you the same question.
How does an album where every melody is in E minor Phrygian qualify as the best produced rap album ever?

I'm not going into technical details becuase I know fuck all about that sort of thing but I enjoyed the beats on Chronic. I loved the sound it gave to the album.

Aha! So you admit it's only your opinion.
The Chronic is not the end all be all production job in majority opinion, as you seemed to be implying.

I admit, I didn't type it the way I wanted and it sounded wrong.

I should have said

"One of my favourite albums production-wise is The Chronic. I really enjoy the beats on it."

The Way I Am? Cleanin' out my Closet? Till I Collapse? Soldier? Stan? Rock Bottom? When I'm Gone? 8 Mile? Lose Yourself?

Sure, the Dre tracks are impressive by themselves, but not so much when compared to these.

Em BETTER have TWO or more [self produced] beats on this album.

I'd be extremely happy if there is a dark piano beat like 'The Way I Am' and a rock influenced beat like 'Sing for the moment' :y:

He's made far better songs with his own beats and with the Bass Bros.

"Rock Bottom", "Just Don't Give a Fuck", "The Way I Am", "Marshall Mathers", "Drug Ballad", "Under the Influence", "Criminal", then ALL of TES bar the Dre tracks.

The Dre tracks on the album were "Business", "Say What You Say" and "My Dad's Gone Crazy". All have their moments but are ultimately more forgettable than the rest.

I mean "The Way I Am" and "Criminal". Man, that production just shits on Dre's as far as I'm concerned. So much more memorable and stylistic. As well as "Square Dance", "Till I Collapse", "Lose Yourself", "8 Mile Road".

Em does his best work when NOT with Dre. Thank fuck he's got different producers this time.
