I think that the emotion and the creative flow make this dope, along with lyrics that to some extent I feel most can relate to.

The flow was real different and I guess weird, but unique, and the way he hit the rhymes kinda makes me hear someone stomping slowly, like gradually walking to the beat which kinda gave me a cool image when listening, also the pauses ads to that. I loved it, kinda doesn't seem to fit with b.o.b. or the hook tho in terms of sound

I was replying to the post that saying it's bad lyric just because the rhyming is not top-notch too. Like lyric is supposed about rhyming and rhyming only.

I know it's not JUST about rhyming. Like I said, need to be a combination. But that combination doesn't have to be emotion. "Buffalo Bill" for example... Just beauty.

Also, given the RIDICULOUS perfection of rhyme / flow on things from Relapse and Refill, I get the feeling this verse was recorded back before Relapse or around that time.

I mean unless he purposely did it less proficient because if you listen to "Buffalo Bill", every single word is pin-point perfect, he obviously hasn't been getting worse lmao so... I think it's oldish.

I think it's recent after listening to it actually.

^ Well I hope Recovery ain't just full of that.

He took a huge step forward with Relapse in terms of technique, that verse feels like he's taken a step back. It's a great verse but, things like "Medicine Ball", man the flow is so energetic, pin-point and badass.

I still want flows like that on it.

^ Relapse has rhyming/flow
This has content/emotion
I'd choose this over Relapse if I had too, but I know he'll put the best together for the classic Recovery obviously, so I'm not worried.

Yeah even his voice on it, like I felt forever and the warning sounded similar, which chronologically based on when the songs were released makes sense. Just my thoughts :y:

Yeah but Relapse has content too. It's not just rhyming for rhymes sake in the true sense. The way the lyricism is written, so smoothly, it's superb. "Welcome to the Slim Shady Mecca Rebecca!", it's class.

I'd choose serial killer raps with mind-boggling rhyming / flows over mis-timed flows and bad rhyming about his past. Which I already know 100 times over anyway.

Unless the emotional content is going to be on Proof and stuff I haven't heard him on I'm not interested. He's more than played out his biography now, he needs to move on. Create art.

Let's keep the discussion about the Airplanes verse, there are enough topics where you can both discuss relapse, flows, etc. Thanks :y:

EminemBase wrote:For once... IN fact, I think maybe the only time ever, I heard him sort of... Over-flow or miss-time some of the flow. I've never heard him do that before, normally every word is inch perfect. Also, some of it felt lazy, a lot of swearing.

I'd rather hear a song about something, but without sick rhymes, than a song like Underground, that lacks an actual content, but got cool wordplays and stuff.

EminemBase wrote:On Recovery I want a mix and I'd like Em to rap about social events and politics much more than his past, which I've heard 1,000 times over.

I think he has realized this, 'cause after all, he knows we're probably tires of hearing 'bout his mom.

But this is just a story
from when I was just a shorty
and how I became hooked on valium!

Anyway, what I like most about this song, is that, compared to Drop The World, the rest of the song is good too, not just Ems verse.
Norway, blah, blah, murder, blah, blah, blood.
