Recovery IS a sequel....

Everyone is saying that Recovery isnt a sequel.....well i believe it is. Not a direct sequel with the same title, themes and content with a number "2" slapped on it....no....but its still a sequel.

Jus like Encore was the sequel to The Eminem Show eventho it wasnt called The Eminem Show 2

So eventho he changed directions and is making more "emotional" tracks, its still a successor to Relapse....but more of a spiritual successor.....some may disagree but thats what i think...who's with me???

except Relapse was a failure, why would anyone wanna make a failure's sequel? sslp + mmlp has same producers (bass bros, Dre), tes + encore has the same producers (em, dre..), relapse & recovery NOT. That alone should totally separate the two.

The producers is not what makes an album, the artist is. And with only like two songs that could make singles, the album shouldn't have sold nearly as much as it did. The album is as far from mainstream as it can be, but it did well anyway. Isn't that a sucess?

the producers may not MAKE the albums, but they sure hint that he's heading to a direction that he's never done before. Never in Eminem's discography he's been working with outside producers, and Just Blaze said people gonna be surprised with the new music, he's clearly doing something different in this album, not just different from Relapse, but also different from all his previous albums.

I didn't even bring up success in term of sale cuz I meant it wasn't publicly embraced, even most his fans don't like it, it got mixed reviews from critics... Even in mainstream level, none of the singles was a real hit or got much play on radio. It sold well based on his fanbase alone, the general public don't bother with it one bit.
