I pretty much agree with what most of the other people are saying. Drake's hype was huge but after the single 'Over' didnt go down too well and the subsequent leaks off the album haven't either, his hype is rapidly falling. Plus other factors have contributed - the fact that people are switching to BoB who is a much better artist in every category, the latest appearances Drake did with Justin Bieber, etc etc. I think people in the hip-hop community are always looking/pushing for 'the next big thing' and thats what they tried to do with Drake, but now they're kinda realising he is far from anything special.

On the other hand, Em's latest 3 verses have had the hip hop community buzzing and generated huge anticipation of Recovery. So yea, Em's buzz is currently a LOT larger than Drake's.

Eminem or Drake?" the answer is Drake. nobody outside the underground really knew who Eminem was until My Name Is hit (which was the day the album came out). Just Don't Give a Fuck didn't really make a splash beyond the underground.

meanwhile millions of people know who Drake is (a feature with Eminem & Kanye would have helped), listen to his mixtapes, & as he says on Forever, he goes on "country-wide tours", & to top it off, performs @ the Grammys.

Ohh yea, you're right. And yes, Drake had a hell of a lot more buzz than Em for his first album because of his mixtape and that 'Best You Ever Had' song.

Well, in the US, Drake obviously, but over in the UK Drake is an unknown outside of hip hop/hip pop circles. But I dont remember the hype in the UK before Em dropped cause I was too young.
