Who thinks Not Afraid shouldn't have been the 1st single?

Don't get me wrong, the song is pretty good. It's a nice change of pace from the Forever/Drop The World flow. But as a first single, I'm not sure if the song will be successful or not. The only qualms I really have with it is the chorus, which is (I hate to say it) the important part of songs that are singles because that's what people remember. Like I said, I think the song is pretty good, but I don't see the song as being a single. Sounds more like a album track than a track for the radio. But who knows, I could be completely wrong and it will shoot up to number 1 on the charts. Honestly, I hope it's very successful, I want Em to go platinum first week because it sounds like he's worked so hard on the album

This song is shitting on the radio right now, but I'm in Michigan so... I think this is a great single because it has a lot of singing, and the verses seem pretty short. Also, it's pretty inspirational, so I think this was a perfect choice for a single.

I never understood it... When rappers make club tracks, don't they realize their missing out on all the people who don't go to clubs? When someone drops a inspirational track, they can pretty much grab anyone. Plus, you get all those bandwagon idiots who only follow what someone else says so I think this was a good choice.


And Interscope can push anything and make it sell, so it doesn't even matter lol

I think that's what my opinion on it is, is that if it was a little bit more upbeat it would have been better. I dunno about the hook though, it's probably just me but it just doesn't strike me as amazing. It has too hopeful of a tone to it, it's an Em I've never heard before, so maybe it'll take time to get used to it, I don't know. That's probably the point, we're probably gonna see a side of him we've never seen on this album. Can't wait 'til it drops

I doubt he'll do a mil first week too, but when it leaks and if it's good it might do more than Relapse

Also, Em played it smart this time because he didn't say SHIT about this album until just recently. Drake has been hyping this album for a year and now people probably don't care as much. Em left fans practically ready to blow him for just a release date. And now he's starting to promote the album just before it comes out, all of May we'll probably get tons of promotion. It would be smart if they did commercials too, I know they did some for Relapse, but really, I only saw the commercial once the entire time
