nope.
what can I say, Eminem's in my mind every second of the day :flutter:

I can understand. I saw a model on the View recently that would have that effect on me as well. She was really beautiful and classy. I never thought I'd like classy women, well I hadn't thought about it before, but everything else just seems meaningless compared with HER!

I didn't scare you off did I? Oh, I'm sorry. The 'HER' part was part of my 'silent comedy' thing I'm kind of stuck to. I like pretty girls, and you seem like one. Please come back.

But considering Curtain Call was just a greatest hits and sold nearly half a mill 1st week (in 2005) and had two top ten singles AND the fact The Re-Up was basically a fucking mixtape and still did what it did... I think it's safe to say he was still very popular lmao.

He took a self-imposed break, he didn't fizzle out. But yeah wouldn't be surprised if Recovery did like 800k now.

Well, Em was still selling a lot of records, but he had to some degree lost touch with hip hop listeners and maybe even the community in general. The mouth to mouth (i know you know the importance of it) wasn't just positive anymore and to me it seemed like a lot of people had given up on him. His decline started with Encore, but after Re-Up he disapeared and he fell you off the mainstage completely for four year, as you said.

And btw, I really believe Em will do a milli. Everyone who bought Relapse will buy Recovery, but this time around he'll appeal to the mainstage aswell. 400k ekstra? No problem...

Well I don't agree that he lost touch with hip-hop listeners. Maybe with people who just like gangsta rap or strongly disliked his silly shit but a lot of people that were really into him, remained into him. Again, I'm talking about the hardcore base, not casual music fans or screaming teenagers.

Everybody has ups and downs, I know of no artist, Hip-Hop or other that literally just got better and better with every single album and no missteps. Encore had some missteps but still had a lot of forceful artistry and impressive lyricism. Even if not upto previous standards.

Also, most people are Em-stans constantly but just never admit it. Only difference between a hardcore Em fan and a general hip-hop fan who bashes on Em is that one admits he's a genius and the other pretends he's too cool to like him lmao. Happens with everybody when they get too big. People like to pretend they're on the fringe and have a defined taste that nobody else can tap into.

But notice how every rap forum has been bashing Em, calling anyone who likes him a 'stan' then with this "Despicable" freestyle and "Not Afraid" I'm already seeing 90% of those people shout he's the GOAT and saying Recovery will be the greatest thing in history lmao.

People's memories are fickle and the last thing you do is usually the most remembered but Em never really lost it. He just had a few self-imposed dips.

I have never said Em ever lost it, but i think at a point the drugs numbed his rap abilities.
Other then that I agree with you, especially the last three paragraphs. I have allways felt like that, so many people force themself to an opinion because they enjoy sticking out and go against the mainstream.

he will do 600-700k 1st week
because i think not afraid is a hit

Are you serious? Relapse did those numbers. If Recovery get good reviews and a good second single it will do a lot more.

Even if you were just average on the outside (but not fat) I could like you if you sounded smart.

Yeah I think it started with the Warning. I heard alot of people talking about that song and my sister (who didnt like Eminem previously and bumps lil wayne) loved it.
Then Forever and everyone was talking about how bad he killed it.
with Drop the World a bigger variety of people were quoting Em, from the nerdy kid to the black dude who sings songs in science for some reason.
And girls are obsessed with Airplanes part 2, with three in the past day talking about Eminem's verse.
I personally dont see not afraid charting well or becoming very popular but it might so we'll see.

but yes, Recovery is going to outsell Relapse for sure.

I think the album could have potential for a number of singles to be released from it. I could certainly see Em rise to the highest level of popularity since perhaps 8 mile era.

Hadez wrote:Eminem is not popular anymore. i don't care how much he's sold recently. the general public doesn't like him. not because he's bad, but because they just don't feel like branching out and listening to something new. while he was gone Lil Wayne took over, Gucci Mane, Timbaland, the shitty R&B singers, fuckin Black Eyed Peas, etc.... that's what they listen to. Eminem is too different from them so they don't bother listening.

Not all true... i had a friend that didn't want to listen to Em well because he was to into Lil Wayne and Drake and those other people... so i guess one day he bought Relapse and he told "Hey look i bought Eminem's new cd!" and i was like wtf he actually listened to me.. so every now and then he would ask me if anything new from Eminem came out and shit...
So that's telling me people are seeing him come in mainstream and having people get into him :worship:
So he might sell more than what people are expecting.. who knows!
People got to listen to new shit sometime especially since Wayne's locked up and shit
