Football World Reacts To Eminem's Roethlisberger Jab

In his latest freestyle, Eminem did not stray from his often-topical subject matter, taking a jab at embattled Pittsburgh Steeler quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

"Fuck that/I'd rather turn this club into a bar-room brawl/Get rowdy as Roethlisberger in a bathroom stall," raps Eminem in his "Despicable" freestyle, referring to highly-publicized sexual assault accusations levied against the quarterback in recent months.

"Apparently, Mr. Mathers couldn't come up with a word that rhymes with 'Roethlisberger,'" offered seemingly unamused writer Mike Florio at ProFootballTalk.

Fans' reactions to the rhyme varied. "I actually think it's pretty funny," wrote one reader in response to the PFT article. "[It's] a 'who's a bigger idiot contest' between [sic] big ben and eminem,i still think ben wins tho," wrote another.

ESPN Blogger James Walker, who covers the division in which the Steelers reside, posed an interesting question on the matter: "Can Roethlisberger battle rap? That would be interesting to see," he wrote, ultimately picking Eminem to win the imaginary battle. "To reference an old LeBron James line, Roethlisberger battling Eminem on the mic is like Soulja Boy trying to battle Jay-Z. It's not a good look."

I don't understand why people would get so pissed, it was a quick jab, not even really that bad. He said "get rowdy as Roethslisberger in a bathroom stall", that's all he said. Nothing really negative, it's just the truth
