Eminem doesn't need a formula Image
He's too creative to adhere to his own artistic imprisonment.

I wanted him to be a homosexual in his first song for Recovery. Like in Fack, but go all out.

I know where you're comin' from. I want Recovery to be a concept album about a night out on the town with Ken Kaniff.

I really wanted a real slim shady or without me part 2 on this album. I can't imagine Not Afraid being played at a club. It's a good song, but what happened to that one song with the catchy beat and chorus? It aint Not Afraid. Not Afraid is decent but it's not a good jam for it to be the lead single.

Everyone was complaining cause his music wasn't "personal" enough after Encore, so now he's trying to satisfy our craving for personal songs, TBH the celeb bashing WAS getting a little old, so I prefer Not Afraid to any celeb bashing.

Also, I don't know what kinda weird ass clubs you go to, but Eminems lead singles are NOT, I repeat NOT club music, The Real Slim Shady, We Made You etc, won't have been played in ANY clubs because it isn't really dancey music, Shake That - Eminem, is a club song, and the only Eminem song I have EVER heard being played in a club, and I think Not Afraids chorus is extremely "catchy" but you're right, it wont be played in any clubs, but so what!!! his best songs like Criminal and Marshall Mathers have never been heard in a club before.

The majority of people on this site slated Em for having "We Made You" as his first single instead of "Beautiful", now he's done it (IMO) the proper way, we probably will have a celeb bashing single (in parts) somewhere on the album, but Not Afraid is a classic song, as someone said on this site before, he has brough back his ability to capture emotion, not just in Not Afraid but Despicable too.

No. I was disappointed when he went back to it with "We Made You" after feeling "Just Lose It" was more than played and would be the last one.

So am very glad he didn't do it again this time.
