But why bring the people who love it down with pessimism?

Think what you want, but you're wrong.

I don't think anything I've said has been pessimistic. I haven't at any point said "HOW CAN YOU LIKE THIS SONG?!" All I've said is "I don't like it". If you accept that as opinion, then I don't see how it can bring you down in anyway.

I disagree with the "true fans" comment made earlier because we're all obviously true fans (if that's what you're referring to).

I've never even said the words "true fans".

Sorry, I meant if you were saying all the "be happy for others" stuff because of Geno's true fans comment.

Because people who aren't even Eminem fans like this song. If anything, I'd say the more diehard fans don't like the song.

Not Afraid is the lead single. Casual listeners wouldn't want to hear another silly single, or something crazy like Despicable.

That's why I think he released it as well. Maybe he knew that some of us "true fans" (maybe I should have used different words) would think he's gone soft or something, so he put that out as a "don't worry, I'm still here" kind of thing.

Hard to explain at 1 in the morning.

I know what you're saying. One for the mainstream success, one to prove he's still hip-hop.

I'm gunna finally agree with something you said for the first time in a while.

Die hard fans will be disappointed by this track, just because its not traditional em. But ive been thinkin about it and im not worried about the album anymore...he's not gunna come out with a cd thats completely different then the rest of his shit.

Im just really really hoping this not afraid track isnt on the album, even though I know it is, I hope at the last minutes its cut.

Storytelling tracks are where Em thrives (Brain Damage, Murder Murder, Yellow Brick Rd etc) so I'd be over the moon with more storytelling tracks!
