I think CAB was a shitty song and I don't get how it could even top iTunes.

But shouldn’t the single promote the album itself? What’s the point of spending money in order to promote singles when lots of these artists have low album sales anyway and you won’t hear about them after 3 years? There are two kinds of hits. One is forced and partially bought by videos, ads etc. The other type will be a hit 10 or even 20 years from now, even after the artist’s death. No promo in the world will help you to fabricate such hit. The song either has IT or doesn’t. Lose Yourself had it and still has it. The single stormed the charts providing promo for 8 Mile and the soundtrack. Nobody needed a video (even thought it had one). They loved the music.
