well I'm not surprised at all that b.o.b only sold that much, he'll have longevity on the chart though.

thing is b.o.b's singles are smashes, but he's not the center of the songs, it's the features that overshadowed him (the hooks by other artists), that's why lots of people may buy his singles but don't care for the guy himself.

I'm surprised B.o.B didn't sell more. Cudi sold over 100k first week.

Just shows that it's all about quality though, for people who think it's just his name doing it - 50 Cent proves this fails quick. Selling barely above Kid Cudi's debut and look at how big he is.

But given that B.o.B had the buzz he did and the songs were as big... I would of thought over 100k would of been surefire. But yeah, Em selling 608k in this climate shows the quality in his music.

no, it just shows how big his fanbase is. If the music is really that quality, it'll have longevity on the chart, not selling 600k first week then next week only 200k and then kept sliding down the chart like a rock.

It did have longevity in the charts. Only dropped to #2 in its third week.

It's more than just fanbase because 50 has a huge one too and look what his album sold. Then what happened? It slid down the charts immediately. Debuting at #5 and dropping FIFTEEN spots in its second week. THAT is what you call a bomb.

Debuting at #1, staying at #1 for a second week and dropping only a spot or two each week is NOT a bomb. Relapse stayed very well, especially considering its content.

I follow this chart thing more than you so I know how it works. It's still #1 second week only because there's no big release coming out so there's no competition. It dropped from 600k first week to 240k second week obviously show the word-of-mouth reaction is not good.
Relapse didn't stay well on the chart at all, the stats proved it, if you keep thinking so that's just lying to yourself. All of his previous albums stayed in top10 even months after release, while Relapse came & go quickly.

What makes me shocked is the fact that Em's been in music for over a decade now and still selling massively. Most great artists of the past e.g. Elvis fell off and couldnt even manage a #1 studio album.

How the fuck would you know you follow the chart more than me. Don't patronize me you don't even know me, cheeky fuck. Every album drops in sales in the second week and for his fifth album, it stayed #1 for two weeks then dropped a notch or two for weeks on end.

It had good staying power. 50's album was a bomb. Relapse was a success.

why do you keep bringing 50's album here? his album is obviously a flop right from the start. Why don't you compare Relapse to BP3, which sold less then Relapse first week (400k) but more than Relapse second week? (300k) Every album drops in sale second week, but they don't drop like 60% in just 1 week. That must be that biggest drop I've seen last year.

^ @one mic for what? if you meant the sale of Relapse, go to some website that has tracking sale like ukmix for example.
