His zany 1st singles have been compromises to provide hits. Yes we happened to get "The Way I Am" out of his anger at the situation but that doesn't mean that Interscope pressuring him to change directions will always produce genius and therefore it's a great thing.

No that's not true. That was just a bonus track on a Greatest Hits album.

If it was a single it'd be a different matter. Just like Interscope forcing him to do a zany 1st single after the success of "My Name Is". They don't force his entire albums but picking out one of his shitty tracks and saying it's that way due to a lack of input from Interscope is ridiculous.
