This might not deserve its own thread, but i didn't want the responses to get lost in another one..

How's the general buzz around people you know.. Fuck numbers, itunes and radio.. What are people actually saying? Cos that's really what makes a person buy an album, word of mouth.

I've just gone on Facebook and about 10 of my friends (don't like rap or eminem) in different conversations have said "Hey, you heard that Not Afraid song by eminem, it's amazing!".. Then the other person coming back in a couple of hours like "You're right, i loved that song.."

None of this happened during Relapse. Not in the slightest.

Is Em on to something big here?

I can't speak of other places in Norway, but I haven't really seen anything by Eminem here in Oslo. Only from the rapfans. I haven't heard the general people talking about him or his new songs. Nothing at all.
When I say to my friends he just released a new single, they're like "oh cool".

I'm known as the 'Eminem guy' amongst people who know me. If an Eminem song comes on in a club, the girls will text me sayin' 'I thought of you'.. And when i'm at a party, the guys will put on an Em song and all look over to me smilin'.

And suddenly everyone is on his dick. It's just nice, and makes comin' on here everyday pretty much for 2 years, and watchin' out for him for years when there wasn't even pictures of him.. Worth it.

And most of the people don't even know about Relapse.

I remember when When I'm Gone was released. The people played it, and they all knew how much of an Eminem fan I was, they talked to me about it and all that...

Now... nothing.

^ told you guys Relapse damaged his mainstream appeal. He's been away for years and Relapse did nothing for him. It's like he have to restart everything (to casual fans at least). Not until he has a smash hit, they won't take him back.

Then I have a black teacher that I consider a hiphop head...he never listens to any of the new shit and was listening to the radio...heard it and hated it...sooo mixed reaction I guess

Fuck your teacher. Just playing, I can see how hip hop purists could dislike this song.

You're most likely to (if ever) dislike NA on first listen. Anyone who gives the song a few spins, however, has a great chance of falling in love with the song. That said, there's definitely a superb overall reaction to the song from most quarters. I'm very pleased about the way things are going so far.

On NA, I knew some people who I wouldnt even consider that big Eminem fans saying they cant wait for the track last week and now they love it.

It's weird - most of the tracks I love, my mates dont and vice versa.
