UK Election Tonight

Postby MikeNUFC » May 6th, '10, 23:36

Any people from the UK watching the election stuff? Anyone voted?

I'm really praying that the Conservatives don't get in. It would be a HUGE backward step and David Cameron is absolute idiot. Some of his benefit policies are ridiculous.

Brown is unpopular and he doesnt have the 'celeb-factor' but is a hard worker and has the ability to sort out the economy.

Come on Labour!

Wow, I didn't even know England had elections. I thought royalty and right-to-rule was passed through bloodline.

Doesn't England have a queen?

A facade, same as The Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, etc.

I didn't vote...i watched some of the alternative election night last night, at least it made it funny (granted i was only watching it for Come Dine With Me). But seriously, if this country can't even make a decision on who it's going to be, what the hell are we going to end up like? :facepalm

I'm somewhat depressed at the results, although we still have SOME hope...

But how the fuck did the Lib Dems LOSE seats, lol? They seemed to have some much momentum...One way or another, there's still multiple outcomes possible. A re-election is probably a desirable outcome, and a Labour-Lib Dem coalition was alright. Nobody has enough real power to form an effective government, but fuck how the Lib Dems seem to have completely rejected the idea of a coalition, and given bit of support to the conservatives?...Brown made a big mistake in saying they were going into a coalition before asking, LOL. But I can't see and Torie-Lib Dem coalition, what with the Tories being so adamant against electorial reform...And they seem to stand for completely different principles. The tories could try taking support from some of the smaller parties, but whether or not they could get a majority is still up for debate...

Anyone else got an idea on what's going on, lol? It's kinda confusing.

LD's had momentum but just becuase they go up in the opinion polls doesnt mean people will vote for them. People lie in opinion polls a lot. Pkus they can be your opinion at the time, tis easy to change your mind.

And fuck the LD's while were at. There all show. On the 3rd election debate Clegg got destroyed and his policies were shown to be a complete farce.

Well, as no-one has a majority Labour and Cons are both tryna get LD's to do a deal so they can get a majority.

Even though Clegg flopped in the polls, it's in his hands. He can choose who he wants to set up a coaltion with. So hope he chooses Labour.

I dont wanna imagine Cameron as our PM. Would be terrible.

Probably, but Brown isn't exactly the most popular guy (i'm not a fan), i have a feeling it will be Cameron.

I like Brown but, yeah, Clegg'll go with Cameron probably.

EDIT: Cameron's just offered the Lib Dems a deal.
