How would a song about jesus even sound coming from Em..lmao.
I agree that religion should be left out of his songs. Look at Immortal technique who mostly raps about politics. Its hard to listen to a song when you dont agree with the artists views on a particular topic. Leave politics (White America is fine, more in reference to the way I.T drags the subject on) and religion out of songs. Its bad enough Em is religious, i dont want to hear a song about it.

Nope. I'm perfectly comfortable with my beliefs (or lack-thereof). The only reason I'm actively anti-religion is because I'm pro-logic. This world would be a much safer and more pleasant place if religious people were simply replaced with logical, rational, reasonable people.

Imagine, sang John Lennon, a world with no religion. Imagine no suicide bombers, no 9/11, no 7/7, no Crusades, no witch-hunts, no Gunpowder Plot, no Kashmir dispute, no Indo/Pakistan partition, no Israel/Palestine wars, no Serb/Croat/Muslim massacres, no Northern Ireland 'troubles'. Imagine no Taliban blowing up ancient statues, lashing women for showing an inch of skin, or publicly beheading blasphemers and apostates. Imagine no persecutions of the Jews - no Jews to persecute indeed, for without religion they would long ago have intermarried with the surrounding populations.

That's a multi-quote from Professor Richard Dawkins of Oxford by the way -- a very brilliant man.

But, if you don't care to read much (I find that people who believe in crazy shit are extremely selective when it comes to what text they want to take in as fact), this pic should just about sum it up.

Hey man, I'm as atheist as the next guy, but are you serious???

You think religion is the sole source of all violence? You think that without religion, people wouldn't find other basis for violence? You're very silly.

Im not saying there will be no violence, but it would certainly be A LOT less of it. If you don't agree with that you're the one who's silly.

Even if you were just average on the outside (but not fat) I could like you if you sounded smart.

Theres no way you can actually say that. We have no idea if there would be more violence, less violence, the same amount of violence. The only way to find out would be to hit the reset button on the world, and redo everything without religion.

But, really... humans are animals. Our animal instincts lead us to violence. You see tigers and bears and shit tearing each other apart all the time, for one reason or another. Food, shelter, mating. We are driven by the same things. I doubt the wildlife are fighting over Jesus and Moses.

The logical progression?

The USS Maine blew up from mysterious circumstances, journalists pinned it on the future enemy, and the Spanish American war started. As a result, the Spanish Empire ends and America extends its power to a global level. This is written in the history books. We didn't do it, but we surely misrepresented the events leading up to the war, right?

Pearl Harbor was attacked under the exact set of circumstances in which the naval ships could not defend themselves. America becomes involved in WWII. As a result of the war, America leads to the rearrangement of Europe and the beginning of the UN and a worldwide governance. The Pearl Harbor instance is not in the history books as a fraud, but its widely speculated and even accepted as a dubious incident. So, we didn't do it, but did we allow it to happen?

The World Trade Centers collapse after Muslim terrorist hijack commercial airlines. America goes to war in the Middle East, in an attempt to restructure those countries and take command over the world's oil supply. So, now... Not only did we take what happened, and skew it, and misrepresent it for our benefit, not only did we allow it to happen, ignoring evidence of the imminent attack... but we actually MASTERMINDED the attack?

However, the Afghan and Taliban and Muslim hate of the United States is not because we praise Jesus. It actually leads back to politics. Sure, the politics lead back to more religion, but that leads back to more politics also.

Point is, things like this would be happening whether or not people believed in religion.

Point is, Eminem should not make a pro Jesus song. Its been done, its not his style, and its Wac Arnolds.

See, this post was on topic.

The day Eminem makes a "pro jesus song" is the day I STOP listening to Eminem :shakehead:

This thread is fucking retarded, and with each post it's getting worse.
Atheists complaining about religion and yet trying to force their atheist 'beliefs' on other people. If you believe in a certain religion then fine, if you don't then fine. Why the fuck does it really matter?
Lock this bullshit thread or ban the retards arguing.

Putting aside beliefs for a second, how would a song about Jesus be interesting at all? What could he possibly say in it that hasn't already been said 10 billion times before that'll make you wanna listen?
"Hyperwarp to Automator's crib and light the torch
They can't fight the force
Victory is ours once we strike the source
Enterprising wise men look to the horizon
Thinking more capitalism is the wisdom
and imprison all citizens, empower with rhythm
We keep the funk alive by talking with idioms"
