When do you think Em scrapped R2?

I think wanting to have a sequel was part of the writers block and when he got out of it completely he realized it wasn't necessary...when do you think this occurred...I'm thinking a little before that Halloween concert

It was all a lie. It was planned. He knew to make just a couple songs for Refill, get the hype up and then destroy it with news of redoing the album with more emotional tracks being actual songs instead of one-liner tracks that get boring. It was planned since Relapse. Interscope knew it wasn't gunna be good to sell 2 Eminem albums in the same year, so it was planned to postpone it until more than a full year after Relapse.

Eminem is quite the sneeky motherfucker.

Why do you think it was Interscope's decision? He says in NA that Relapse was "eh" so I 100 % sure it was his own decision to scrap the sequel. It would be pretty weird if anyone forced him to downtalk his own album.

Either way around, I'm happy that he decided to make something else.

Not long after Relapse dropped, some website which I've known to be reliable (cant remember the name, I'll have a look in a minute), said something about Interscope forcing Em to change direction, becuase of the success of Beautiful. This was a good 3/4 months before Em announced a change of direction in the album.

Obviously I could be wrong.

I also think the 'ehh' thing was pressure from the fans and to win fans back. Again, could be wrong, just a feeling I have.
