Different approach from Interscope?

Postby professor » May 24th, '10, 02:02

Does anyone think Interscope is trying a different approach at promoting Recovery? There hasnt been any promotion or singles. Last year we had WMY, 3 AM, Old Time Sake, and Beautiful. Im not complaining, I actually think its a smart move, but im feeling a different approach from Interscope.

Yeah I've been thinking the same. We had WMY & CAB very early last year. I hope this album doesn't take until like the 15th to leak...I'm hoping for the full album leak around June 8-10 ?

My guess is that they havent really started yet, like I dont think Not Afraid is really the big single from the album, I think it was just the first leak, like how they put out Crack A bottle 2 months before relapse, then We Made You a couple weeks before the album..........I expect another single to be released here in a week or 2.........Probably a Just Blaze joint since theres so much hype about him and Em workin together

CAB was intentionally for 50 at first thats why it came so early. Honestly, i think Interscope is keeping this album locked shot from leaking and this is why promotion has been kind of on the low. I hope it doesnt leak at all, but we knw thats not gonna have it

I guess it's both good and bad depending on which angle you look. Good because there's lot's of mystery around it. Bad because all this secretism/lack of word is pissing fans off.

yea i feel u about the lack of word, but think about buying Recovery and not Knowing what one song sounds like (besides the singles). Thats like Christmas to the ears. Besides we know were gettin tons of promotion in June

i dont get what the advantage to holding back the tracklist and cover are. we will get them eventually so why not start building hype through titles. color me confused.

We'll get the cover this tuesday, and that tracklist June 1st. The video will come out soon too, and they'll probably release a few songs in June. We still have 4 weeks left.
CAB was intentionally for 50 at first thats why it came so early. Honestly, i think Interscope is keeping this album locked shot from leaking and this is why promotion has been kind of on the low. I hope it doesnt leak at all, but we knw thats not gonna have it

The amount of promotion has nothing to do with the album leaking

If we were given the cover and tracklist 2 weeks ago we would have basically nothing for a whole 4 weeks. They're stringing us along so theres a constant flow of news.

As long as we don't get a quarter of the album again before release then I'll be happy.
