The choice (feat. Lil Wayne)

Postby Norway kills » May 30th, '10, 13:18

Excacly why did Eminem choose that the one rapper to feature on his album, had to be Lil Wayne? I guess most rappers out there, including T.I. and Jay-Z, would have done a verse or two with Eminem, so why did he choose the autotune king? Lil Wayne may be popular, but not in the inner rap circle. The real rap fans, fans of Eminem, dislike Wayne! He may reach another #1 on Billboard, but is it worth it for letting down the very genre of rap?

Tell me why!

People say Lil Waynes not really liked within the inner rap circle but the only person I've ever really known to go after him is 50 (Who is horrible) he has been shown love from KRS, Nas, Eminem, T.I and Jigga as well as many others, and i think a lot of people here are a bit close minded when it comes to Weezy, yes he has a lot of bad songs and awful auto-tune warbling garbage, but if you look past these you will find a lot of good songs also its just cos he makes so much music, a lot of it is kind of rushed but when he brings his A-Game he can be brilliant

Stuff like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_FAIgLH250 is brilliant

Wayne did great on DTW, I'm sure he'll do even better on No Love.

I just listened to Runnin' and I like his part.

In the rap games, image is everything, and if he continues to work with autotuners like Lil Wayne, he will lose the image he has gained through the years. He will be considered more and more sell-out for every song he does with Wayne, Drake and all those Young Money dudes.

I think people need to let the competition go.. Waynes sick with it as much as Em is, both can be world beaters, both have gone through annoying phases.

IMO, Tha Carter 2>MMLP but ES>any of Waynes albums..

So even though i think Ems better, i don't need to hate, i can realise who has put out classics and who can kill it apart from our God lol

They'll kill it, Wayne will raise his game from DTW, he had the content on that, but when he's doing his rap thing on Recovery, he'll have the flow too.
My Top 5 (in no order)-

Eminem
Big l
Biggie Smalls
Royce Da 5'9"
Jigga

What are you talking about? "The Inner rap circle"

Do you know who Wayne has done songs with?

Q-Tip
Nas
Rakim
Busta Ryhmes
Jay-Z
Raekwon
Jadakiss
KRS-1
Bun-B
Eminem
Etc...

The list goes on and on. He picked wayne because wayne is his favorite MC right now and he is showing support to wayne during his prison time and wayne is returning the favor from D.T.W

"MAY" lol definition of a hater. Wayne is the MOST popular rapper right now, maybe of all time :coffee:

I knew Wayne was gunna be on Recovery...But I was just as suprised as anyone else that he was the only rappin feature on the album.

Now, Ive always had to back up Lil Wayne here on this site, and finally, in this thread, there is one person that see's the whole lil wayne phenom the same way I do.

When I first started gettin into lil wayne again, everybody I knew told me I need to start listening to him, I thought he was weak cuz the only wayne I knew was the "block is hot" wayne. But, then I picked up I Cant Feel My Face and The Carter 2.

The Carter 2 is an amazing an album..And its perfect to use as a contrast to what he is making now. When Lil Wayne wasn't selling that many records and wasn't all over TV and the radio...He was making rap music. He was just rappin on tracks and all the tracks went hard, nice hard beats to throw in your car stereo to play over your 12's or 15's.

He gets WAYY to much shit now-a-days cuz when people think lil wayne...they think of all the songs that have been on the radio since C3 came out...Which in my eyes, was the down fall of lil wayne. He can still rap, but he gave up rap for the most part and focused on pop music for the radio and shit because it brings in the most money.

He went from being a well known rapper not making much money ( And he said this in an interview, said he's barely sold any records, and he sold more C2 records than most of his others combined ) , to within a year becoming the face of hip hop mainstream. Even 50 cent realized this and was about to try and start a beef with him, then backed the fuck down when he saw how big he got.

At any rate, if you want to find out why people like wayne as much as they do, you need to listen to a few albums.

The Carter 1
The Carter 2
The Drought 3
The Drought Is Over 4
The Drought Is Over 2 ( This mixtape is the Original Carter 3 - All the songs leaked so he put them on a mixtape and re-did the carter 3....This album is better than the Carter 3 that hit the stores imo. I feel like dying is on this and lalala and shit...)

Google and download these albums and listen to them and you'll see why Eminem likes Lil Wayne. Lil Wayne is just suffering from a couple things. People are getting sick of his voice and flow because of how much music he's put out...for a good couple years lil wayne was everywhere. And he's gotten too big, get too big and mainstream and people will start hatin on you all of a sudden.

With everything I just said, I would also like to say...He's not the most popular anymore. 2-3 years ago he was...But he's been on top long enough where a lot of people who liked him a couple years ago, dont any more because they are just sick of him. A lof of his fans dont listen to him anymore because he doesnt sound much like he did back when they became fans....and with gettin that big in the mainstream...he also inherited about 25 million haters, which apparently 30 of these 25 million post here on this forum.

Anybody hear T.I's new mixtape?? Guess who has the sickest verse on the whole thing?? Thats right, Lil Wayne! Homestly I've no doubt his feature on Recovery will be great, I'd advise everybody who thinks Wayne is whack to listen to the Origional Carter 3 album, which was full of sick beats and verses, like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1S7jPBsaQM

Edit: Looks like LLockhart86 got there before me
