Genius of the Lightening Line...

Postby EminemBase » Jun 5th, '10, 02:55

I'm not sure if it's just me who didn't fully get this line until now. Since now I've just been mentally glossing over this line...

"What's the saying? Lightening doesn't strike twice... Then how the fuck have I been hit six times in three different locations, on four separate occasions?"

Up until now I've just been taking those numbers as random and not given much thought as to why he's specifically using those numbers. It wasn't until I just sat and thought about the line I realized what he did.

Concept: Lightening doesn't strike twice.

Okay, so he's basically made a little... Interwoven fucking maths lyric lmao. Because with three locations, four separate occasions and being hit sixtimes... It would mean he was hit twice on every location.

I may of fucked that up, it's still confusing me somewhat. Maybe others of you here will already know it / have discussed it. But it's something like that I just can't express it properly. But that is brilliant. I thought he was just rambling random numbers to exaggerate again but it actually works out being hit two times on each, mathematically lmao. Fucking class.

You dont need a new thread everytime a line makes sense.

One thing that wasnt genius was the beat selection.

Opinion.

I thought the beat was great.

so it's bad to make a thread about something small, but it's cool to post irrelevant comments.

got it, thanks :y:

He made a thread about a different line earlier and there was another thread with a bunch of the meanings to the metaphors in the song as it was

My feeling towards the beat in the song isnt irrelevant considering the thread is about the song and in my opinion the beats the worst part as it was with Not Afraid.

I was wondering that myself.

It would've worked if it were 3 occasions.

4 occasions would equate to 8 strikes.

EDIT: Nevermind, twice at each location. I was getting the occasions mixed in with the broader point. I don't guess the 4 occasions have mathematical significance.

Its nothin got to do with interwoven maths, 6 and 3 could easily be 10 and 20 and the other number is irrelevant

6 times being struck in each location (3), on different 4 occasions.

6x3 = 18.

18x4 = 72.

:D

what's so special about 72?

Nothing,all that matters is that the amount of times he was hit is double the amount of locations.

Actually this whole thread is bullshit I got it completely wrong.

What he in fact meant is...

He got hit six times in three locations = two times at each. On four separate occasions = This event, of getting hit twice in three locations happened four times a row.

"What's the saying? Lightening doesn't strike twice... Then how the fuck have I been hit six times in three different locations, on four separate occasions?"

Been bugging me to we can interpret it different ways through math or whatever which i had originally but what if we look at it a different way?

Hit by Lightning 6 times=6 Studio Albums(Before Recovery)
4 Occasions=4 Compilations(8mile,The Singles,Curtain Call,Re-Up)
3 Locations=3 Collaborations(With D12)

I don't know just another way you can look at it?

You can't count the studio albums before Recovery and the d12 albums after recovery.
