In some ways, I agree with you. Encore really does have good songs, people detest it because the bad songs overshadow the good ones.

Terrible Songs on Encore:
Big Weenie, Just Lose It, Ass Like That, Puke, One Shot 2 Shot, Encore, My 1st Single, Rain Man

The rest are average, bar Spend Some Time (ruined by Stat & 50, though) & Yellow Brick Rd.

Terrible Songs on Relapse:
Crack A Bottle

The rest are good, most are great. Deja Vu is his best song since TES

On Encore he was drugged up, had some horrible flow, content was pathetic, you could tell how lazy it was. The whole album was so lazy and messy. Even the skits were terrible.

Relapse on the other hand is clean, fresh, has some killer flows, amazing rhyming, lots of different delveries and voices, some comedy and had lots of playback ability. And is a fantastic concept album.

Relapse shits all over Encore.

And by Deju Vu being his best song sence TES I hope you mean before Recovery too?

Mockingbird is boring as hell. Hailies Song is a million times better.
Like Toy Soldiers is a great hit but his delivery, flow and rhymes were horrible. Nice to listen to though so yeah, thats not average.

Deja Vu is better than anything he did on Recovery, to me.

Lol what else do you want it a rap song?

You cant really dislike that beat, can you?

The hook is fire

The flat delivery suits the song and its content - it's intentional. It's honest, the rhyming is world class and his flow is orgasmic.

Not bad but it has no replay value for me. Really boring.

Listen to what Dre says at the end of Ass like That.
That basically sums up what we were all thinking during Encore.

i loved the song.... but recovery definitly has songs that beat and will have much more replay value... and ems flow on it realy isnt that great... i think it sounded like he was trying too hard and bent the words little too much.... hooks on relapse IMO beat most of the hooks on recovery... so yeah i think that hook was fire,,, i think too many of the trcks were sampled and i miss the great DRE,,, and i miss em just doing his own beats but yeahh

Yellow brick road and mosh are 2 of my top 15 em songs, i like encore, but. It was just average for my eminem album standards. I understand the hate because it was the first em cd I couldn't listen from cover to cover. That's why I love em so much cuz he's one of the only artist that can put together classic albums from cover to cover.

Relapse fell into the same catagory plus the replay value was bad, it got old quick. I bumped the hello out of tho cuz I'm a stan.

You're probably not the only one but I wish you were. Encore DOES have some good songs on it but if you take it as a whole as an album it's trash. Would have made a good mixtape though.

Agreed. I listen to that song regularly.
Caution to the wind, complete freedom. Look at these rappers, how I treat 'em, so why the fuck would I join 'em when I beat 'em?

Nah you aint, i've said before i much prefer Encore. I'm sure nostalgia probably plays into it a bit, but in general i just liked the theme. The only songs i didn't like were Just Lose It, Ass Like That and Big Weenie to be honest. A couple like My First Single and Spend Some Time were a bit mediocre sure, but overall it had a lot of songs that i personally liked a lot. I'm sure it has something to do with the fact that i was much much younger (whereas when Relapse came out i was nearly 17) and had only just begun to follow Em, listening to TES and MMLP before it came out, but i do genuinely like the songs. Of course i still like Relapse, but for an album as a whole Encore is more my bag.

Recovery's better than both of them though :shifty:
