This song is really sloppy at parts, which is unlike Eminem. The end of the first verse has really lacklustre flow. I know it sounds like I'm nitpicking.

"You neg-LECTED me... did me a favor and my spirit free you've SET.. but a special place in my heart I have KEPT... it's unfortuNATE..."

I knew what the metaphor was in the first verse. But I hated how he spelled it out. "Fuck you, HIP HOP" as though to say "Get it? Get what the song's about?"

Otherwise good, though.

Well not every fan of rap/Eminem is intelligent, if he didn't say that, there's a chance it would probably go over a lot of fans heads....but after the make someone else famous line, it become kinda obvious IMO.

Yeah it's a great song.

I thought it was about a female until the final bit the first time too. Not only a superb concept but... A great way to 'reveal' the concept.

Because if you start off with that assumption it's pulled away at the end and the song becomes something else. And something far more worthy. Then you have to re-listen just to appreciate the lyrics in that new context.
