Marshall Mathers songs: the most personal songs (rock bottom, marshall mathers, mockingbird)
Eminem songs: his songs as an artist (if that makes any sense) (lose yourself, till I collapse, the way i am)
Slim Shady songs: his batshit insane songs (insane, i'm back, amytiville)

I don't differenciate between Eminem and Marshall Mathers in his songs. The only split personality to me is Em/Marshall vs. Slim Shady.

the way i am is pretty personal song imo, he's talking about the personal stress he gets from all the attention. Not that different from Marshall Mathers.

i always thought Celeb-bashing singles as Slim Shady songs... from the video he doesn't say the difference between Marshall and Eminem. Think it'd make sense, right? since Eminem is just a "short-form" of Marshall Mathers.

The only time there's a difference between Marshall Mathers and Eminem is when he's not rapping, like when he's with his girls he's no longer Eminem. But as far as the music goes, Eminem is just his stage name and there's no difference.

I never said those albums were composed entirely of songs by the person in the title...Rock Bottom's not a Slim Shady Song and Cleanin' Out My Closet is a Marshall Mathers song...fact is, he distinguishes a difference between the three personalities by making 3 albums with different personas in the title...and he pretty much seems to have 3 types of rapping styles that fit each too, so...also, like i said, that interview is out there somewhere...tried a quick search on youtube, but i don't really feel like diggin around for it right now...
