this album, unlike any other Eminem album has some great wordplay
that just adds a new dimension to his lyrics that he hasn't had since Infinite

If you think of wordplay as playing with words to create a certain effect (as the term implies), then his first three albums have better wordplay. His use of language is more effective in those three albums.

If you think of wordplay as strictly puns/double-meanings, SSLP/MMLP have this album beat, quite comfortably. Sure, Recovery has 1000 times the number of puns, but a lot of them are ineffective.

i'll beg to differ... could you give examples of better puns in MMLP and TES? i can only think of one right now, "Checking the mail, get it? Checking the male" not as good though.

He was actually very straight to the point on the MMLP, but he did have so songs that would blow recovery out of the water as far as that goes.

I said MMLP/SSLP. MMLP you were asking for? The better puns are in SSLP ("Hit the trees harder than Sonny Bono"..."I keep it positive and play it cool, shoot up the playground and tell kids to stay in school"...) but okay..

Mind you, some of the Recovery ones are as good as these, but he's not nearly as consistent as he was on SSLP/MMLP. And he used puns very minimally on SSLP/MMLP and when he did use them they were funny.
