honestly, eminem doesn't need promotion. I think he puprosely leaked Recovery in order for the fans to just spread the word...cause honestly back with Relapse, we were afraid to tell our friends about the album (at least I was, that shit was horrific and i'm specifically just talking about the accents) but with Recovery, I've shown to every single one of my friends, and every day I hear of more and more people learning about Recovery.

what the hell are you talking about? relapse leaked at least 2 weeks before release.. thank me later WILL NOT outsell recovery! this is just a small sample but TML still has LESS preorders on amazon then recovery and the shit drops tomorrow.. recovery(deluxe) is #2 on itunes and recovery non-deluxe is #8.. im sure the sales for recovery WONT be that bad.

Some of you put too much bank on the opinions of 15 year old girls. Do you realize how much bigger of a star Eminem is than Drake and how his fucking NAME gets people to the store?
Caution to the wind, complete freedom. Look at these rappers, how I treat 'em, so why the fuck would I join 'em when I beat 'em?

Personally i never really got into Relapse. In the lead up to it, when 3am came out i played it for my friend and we just went "nah" and turned it off after the gay ass intro. We Made You i thought was passable based purely on the rhyming and flow, but nothing special. Beautiful i liked for a week and then became bored of, same for Underground. When it came out in the summer last year needless to say me and my mate pretty much memorised the album. I remember we got drunk actually on a night out with loads of people and started shouting the lyrics to We Made You (i know, i know, cool story bro) and we went around playing the shit in the car but the truth is i never got completely into it. I just really wanted to like it because it was his first album for 4 fucking years, lol. I never tried to convince people about how good it was, which is something i've felt the need to do with Recovery.

But nah, he doesn't need promotion. People will check the album purely for the name nowadays; it's just an added bonus that it happens to be fucking great.

Yeah Relapse was by no means horrific.

Only if you disliked the accent(s) or are just a mainstream Eminem fan who doesn't want to hear that intensity of rap lyricism for its own sake.

Accent(s) didn't / don't annoy me at all though so I really enjoyed the album. A total rush of obsessive rhyming and descriptive writing, really addictive.

Slant magazinw doesnt count they rate everything Em does bad and it never has an effect

As far as promotion, Eh, Em's already got his album at #2 and #8 on Itunes just off pre-sales, and they debuted the video on 106 and park today

Drake has alot of promo but I dont think its gonna sell all that much, Reviews for it have been mostly horrible

this actually crossed my mind, and after reading that it kinda makes sense. altho relapse did leak 2 weeks before, just like recovery. all i know is everyone already has the album, and everyone keeps talking about it. I've gotten a ton of texts about if i heard it, my friends have status's strictly saying how great it is...my one friend who likes em even put his status as recovery being the best album of the decade

Kinda hypocritical, don't you think? It doesn't matter what magazine's say. It matters what fans say, cause in the end, the fans are the ones who tell the truth--they are the ones who either listen to it or not.

Now I'm sure Eminem will outsell Drake, just based on the fact that Drake's never been able to do 600k, so why should we think he can do it? While Eminem constantly does 600k.

Yes he might be a Rookie with high potential, but Eminem's consistently makes him more favorable.

Eminem probably woulda leaked Relapse too. It actually helped him sell. If it didn't leak, 500k or w.e people wouldn't have went out and bought that album after hearing We Made You, 3 AM, Old Time's Sake.

EminemBase wrote:I just read their MMLP review too and it's abysmal. The person who reviewed it (SAL CINQUEMANI) also gave Encore 2.5/5 and Relapse 2.5/5. So he thinks those two albums are better than MMLP apparently.

Also, his review was maybe the most shameful misunderstanding of the album I have ever seen. With the cheek to imply all of Eminem's achieved satire was accidental and that he is genuinely homophobic, misunderstanding so many levels of the irony on the album as ignorance or petulance.

Seriously dreadful review. Fact that he even brought up the homophobic issue with such angst there makes me think he himself is gay anyway though. And that's probably why he gave the album the rating he did, going out of his way to jade his own view on its artistry. I've seen so many gay people still not grasp... I mean, my goodness. If anybody at this point still thinks Eminem... Actually, for that mater, if anybody EVER thought he was genuinely homophobic they're a fucking lost cause.

Which is to be expected but for a person of such a limited sector of society to be in that position, reviewing art which they don't even begin to understand. Despite stretching their vocabulary to try appear that they do. What a fool.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I think the guy is gay himself. He gives Eminem Show a 4/5 when EM takes a completly different direction and no "gay terms" are used. 1.5??? fuckin pathetic. I could understand if he said like 3/5, but 1.5 is obviously complete bias.

I just wanted to chime in that Relaple leaked 12 days before. Carry on.
