Encore > Relapse when it comes to nonfans

Postby Tash8 » Jun 15th, '10, 04:26

it's true...a lot more people were able to enjoy the catchiness of Just Lose It and Puke rather than the accent-highlighted relapse.

To real rap fans and eminem fans alike.. Relapse shits on Encore just based on lyrical value.

look at it this way..if Relapse and Encore didn't exist--Recovery wouldn't exist.

Bagpipes From Baghdad and Must Be The Ganja dont have any real replay value but i can listen to them without cringing. Everything else rates from average to ill as fuck.

almost all Relapse is not listenable (as cool as having a dick in your head sounds, it doesn't have replay value)

i really do agree with your assesment of the albums based on fans and nonfans, though, like geno said, both i'd like to forget about.

most nonrap fans love the song "when i'm gone", i've noticed that also. weird

I'm a Stan, so definitely and Emfan.

I ain't a non-fan. But I'ma say

Encore > Relapse. ;)

TES>MMLP>Recovery>Encore>Relapse Refill

But then again, I'ma get this straight, Relapse is better than Encore. I just prefer Encore. :)

For now, at least.

I have actually found that Encore might have more replay value than Relapse. But I still put Relapse a bit above Encore.

see to me, they have a lot of replay value. i get just as much enjoyment from noticing all the unique rhymes as realizing what he meant on a punchline from Recovery.

thanks bro, but again i was expressing my thoughts on non rap fans...I'm sure most real fans appreciate the complex rhymes and impressive story telling of Relapse over the catchy, toilet humor of Encore.

Relapse is easily a more solid album. It's more thought out, lyrically wonderful, very tightly executed and structured fairly decent. It has a few blunders (like CAB) but it's nearly spot-on in most aspects.

That said, I can see how a fan who's more-so that of pure 'music' and Eminem's 'musical' abilities would prefer Encore and think it's a better album. Given that, aside from the stupid tracks and his obvious lyrical lacking in places, he's still pretty well-formed musically.

Furthering that, I can see how somebody on that side who doesn't perhaps like Eminem or rap purely for lyricism would hate Relapse and see it in a totally different perspective. But in all serious consideration, to me, Relapse is far above Encore artistically.

Encore > SSLP for nonfans to be honest.
Caution to the wind, complete freedom. Look at these rappers, how I treat 'em, so why the fuck would I join 'em when I beat 'em?

Encore was more an even.........Half of it was great and the other half was horrid

Relapse was just kinda The same vibe all the way through

Encores highlights were better then anything on Relapse, but there was nothing on Relapse as bad as Big Weenie or Ass like that........

Encore is catchy? Hahahaha, no.

Encore got more publicity because Eminem was coming off of 3 great albums and his influence on the genre was still fresh in people's minds. Relapse was released after Rap's popularity in general had plummeted and a lot of people had forgotten that he even existed.

For that reason alone, some Encore songs may be more well known/liked by "Joe Dumbass" whose favorite band is probably AC/DC.
