Do you think Recovery would be a classic if Dre produced it?

Postby CLV22798 » Jun 22nd, '10, 05:03

I wanted to continue the interesting question I asked in my last thread. Now, I love how Recovery turned out. It was the Eminem album I was waiting for since The Eminem Show. I liked that he stepped out of his comfort zone, and worked with different producers and artists. But, one of the things I've seen people criticize the most is the production of the album. I have no problem with the production, I think it's one of his best all around produced album's he's ever done. What I want to ask is how do you think Recovery would have turned out if Dr. Dre produced the whole album? With they way Eminem sounded in Recovery, I think it would have been his best album period if Dre had produced most of it.

What do you people think?

Guys, it was just a hypothetical question lol. I meant if Eminem had the same type of songs, but the difference being that Dre produced the album. How do you guys think Recovery would of turned out?

Recovery is a classic because Dre didn't produce it.

I think as usual Dre's beats would of been repetitive and drowned out Em's vocals. And slightly ruined the material for me.

If EM produced it though I think it would of been twice as goood.

It would of turned out like so:

2. "Talkin' 2 Myself" (featuring Kobe) Prod. Dr. Dre
3. "On Fire" Prod. Dr. Dre
4. "Won't Back Down" (featuring Pink) Prod. Dr. Dre
5. "W.T.P." Prod. Dr. Dre
6. "Going Through Changes"Prod. Dr. Dre
7. "Not Afraid" Prod. Dr. Dre
8. "Seduction" Prod. Dr. Dre
9. "No Love" (featuring Lil Wayne) Prod. Dr. Dre
10. "Space Bound" Prod. Dr. Dre
11. "Cinderella Man" Prod. Dr. Dre
12. "25 to Life" Prod. Dr. Dre
13. "So Bad" Prod. Dr. Dre
14. "Almost Famous" Prod. Dr. Dre
15. "Love the Way You Lie" (featuring Rihanna) Prod. Dr. Dre
16. "You're Never Over" Prod. Dr. Dre

And on the back of the CD case, it would say, "PRODUCED BY DR. DRE...

I love your answer!!!!! I just came up with the idea of Dre producing it for the people that didn't like the production in Recovery. I had no problem with the production on the album, to me it's a classic

The only problem I have is that these beats are all Lil Wayne and Drake beats, not hip hop beats. Which is what Em used on SSLP, MMLP, and TES - HIP HOP beats not CLUB beats.

There is no way you can compare this album to those 3 simply because of that. This is a lot more mainstream beat type album. Sometimes Dre beats are repetitive, but at least he makes hip hop beats.

You ever wonder that maybe that's what he was going for? Maybe he wanted to switch his style of production for once, which is why he went with so many different producers. I bet Eminem has the mindset that if people like the my old style better, then go back and listen to his old albums. Maybe he didn't want to make the type of music he's made before.

I respect your opinion, but So Bad is in no way the best beat in Recovery. It sounded like the same old Dre, nothing new or fresh about it. I would have rather heard an Underground type beat. Now, that beat was just something else. It was fresh and different
