Nothing On You

Apparently B.o.B's hit song was originally Lupe's.

Lupe Fiasco - Nothing On You ft. Bruno Mars
viewtopic.php?f=13&t=90285

Lupe Fiasco didn't want it and passed the beat (with Bruno Mars' hook) to B.o.B, who gladly embraced it and managed to turn it into a hit.
Lupe was never the bilboard-hit-single-kind-of-rapper, so I understand why he didn't want it.
Too bad, though. He could have had much more exposure with a song like that.
Or did Jim Jonsin, the producer who produced the beat, prefer B.o.B's vocals over Lupe's?
Who really knows, I like both versions.
Lupe's version sounds more like a poetry reading, which I prefer. So at the end of the day preference is what counts.

PS: Atlantic records can be a bitch, so fuck them.
"Truth is limitless in its range; if you drop a 'T' and look at it in reverse, it could hurt."

meh.. I actually stopped this fairly early into verse one. Just wasn't feelin' it.

BoB did a much better job with this, which surprises me.

Same, I also stopped early. It's probably because I'm too used to B.o.B's version to like Lupe's as much.
