Recovery to sell 590-615k first week

Postby Matt21 » Jun 23rd, '10, 20:08

The record industry just scored its own golden goal. Can a full Recovery be far behind?

Offering conclusive proof that Marshall still matters, Eminem’s aptly named Recovery will score the year’s highest sales debut. Look for a total of between 590-615k for the Shady/Aftermath/Interscope album, easily beating Sade’s 503k back in February. It could also beat his last album, Relapse, which sold 608k in its first week in May ’09.

Dude. It's 2010, nobody will sell that much first week. Plus, it's only one year after his comeback album which wasn't well received. I think these are very good numbers.

This. Although when it comes to Eminem, if he ever goes under 300k, it'll be a sad day.

Beating relapse by a mere few thousand. That's soooooooooo wrong!

Hopefully these upcoming tv appearances will boost sales on the weekend.

What did it sell in the UK?

Thats all right I guess as long as it passes 600 000, it should have a big second week and come close to going platinum. I fucking hate what the music industry has become from radio all the way to sales.

it will have way more longevity than Relapse. Look at Not Afraid- it hasnt gone anywhere and Recovery will stay on the charts and end up being the best selling album of the year :y:

It's the best the industry can do. There's no one who can do these numbers now, especially twice in 13 months. Well...maybe Lady Gaga. I think she's the only one who can beat Em's first week sales. We'll see what her next album does next year.
