Amadeo wrote:i'm not over-analyzing it... i'm saying he shot himself in the foot by putting references that were far too current in the song that's his biggest hit since Lose Yourself.

Granted, he still performs "The Way I Am," where he says, "I'm not going to be able to top on My Name Is." But that doesn't sound nearly as anachronistic as STILL apologizing to fans for his last album, which wasn't even his last album.

I believe a lot of the music Em makes is specifically INTENDED to capture that moment in time.

aside from that line you mentioned i think this song is very generic and because of that it's gonna sound good (if it sounds good to you now) many years down the road

I think its a valid question.

Maybe he'll edit the lyrics...or let them remain the same and dont give a fuck about anyone.

How did he shoot himself in the foot with those lines? those lines are a part of why its such a big song hes saying his last cd was ehh and he wont let down his fans.. I dont think it would have been as big of a song without them

Predominantly, predominantly, everything's always predominantly
Predominantly white, predominantly black
Well what about me? where does that leave me
Well I guess that Im between predominantly both of em
I think if I hear that fuckin word again Imma scream
While I'm projectile vomiting, what do I look like, a comedian to you?
Do you think that I'm kidding?
What do I look like some kind of idi- wait a minute, shit, don't answer that..
