Encore was garbage

When Eminem dropped Encore he said at that point in his life he was bored with rap. He didn't put in any emotions to the album and just made songs just to put the album up. At that point of his career he was pretty much on fire and had nothing else to gain. But I'll say Recovery is definitely his best work since TES. Although, I will say I do miss the anger and venom Em used to spit. I was hoping this album he would have been a little darker and angrier. As an artist he just matured and I'm guessing that angry rap is past Eminem now. But I still love Recovery regardless! :worship:

You'd have to listen to artists other than Eminem to answer your own question.
My Top 5 (in no order)-

Eminem
Big l
Biggie Smalls
Royce Da 5'9"
Jigga

Lmao people keep saying that, Recovery was a pretty angry / angst-filled album.

It may have been mature in spots but how is "Cold Wind Blows", "On Fire", "Almost Famous" etc. not angry and subversive like he used to be.

How angry do you expect him to get at this point. He's a multi-millionaire doing what he loves for a living and he's no longer public enemy #1.

Probably the biggest comeback in rap......A few peoples opinions notwithstanding the general opinion from the fans has been that Recovery is a great album, where Relapse wasnt........Just from what I've seen where I live, the ratio of cars driving by playing recovery, compared to relapse, is seriuosly gotta be like 20 to 1.........Urban Radio never played anything from Relapse but that Rhianna joint has been on repeat over and over since the leak on 98.7 down here........So, yeah, Recovery was a great comeback from the brink, a whole lot of people who gave up on dude came back and a few new heads are listening

Only rapper I can compare it to is Nas..........When he dropped "Nastradamus" and everyone shit on it, Jay Dissed him on the Take over for being washed up and irrelevant, then Nas came back with "Stillmatic" and became a star again
