Why do people compare Em to Wayne?

I log onto this site frequently, and yes, Eminem is my favorite rapper. However, it seems like whenever another rapper is mentioned, it's always Wayne. Why does eveyrone put so much basis on commercial appeal, sales, ect?

I feel like if you unbiasedly listened to the great amount of talent out there, there would be so much more discussion than Lil Wayne.

Am I alone is thinking Lupe, Nas, and Talib Kweli are the other juggernauts that people should be comparing to IF they choose to compare artists?

What about Ghostface Killah? This dude spits fire...

I guess there was a time where I didnt really sample a lot of hip-hop and felt Em was easily the best. After really giving other artists a chance, I feel like visiting this forum takes me back to those times.

I have a feeling I'm going to get grilled for this post because
a. I dont post often
b. This is an Eminem forum, therefore, you should be his biggest fan

People here only really compare Wayne to Em from a current sales standpoint. There's hardly anybody who really compares them as MCs or artists, except for a couple retards.

They compare wAnye to em, because like it or not Wayne took over when em left and now that he's back people want to see how they really compare.
Not many people listen to enough variety as they should so in their mind it's like comparing the 2 kings of rap.
I love seeing someone who isn't afraid to throw out names of "underground" people. It shows they are more open and have a respect for others with talent. Rather than to be so ignorant as to say em is the best ever without listening to rap as a whole.
I've gone around to listen to a wide variety and em is def. close to the greatest but the subject itself is so biased, there really isn't a GOAT.
Some people forgot about eminem or thought he fell off so now that he's back people want to see if he's still got it or if he really never came back.
There are many rappers better than Wayne, he was just the "best" at the time because more people knew about him or heard him'
most go with the flow.
I gotta respect your opinion though, caz you are very right.

I like Lil Wayne...I think he's good...that is as far as I'll go. What stops him from being great to me is the amount of piss poor material he has put out. He oversaturates the radio waves and music sites with a lot of garbage.
