Hm, i feel like he should not be blaming drugs as the downfall of his career.
Shit i love Slim, but he has been on drugs the whole time throughout his career making albums like TSSLP TMMLP TES - he was also on drugs so what makes it any more different..
Okay man you got addicted, well its not like no one else is doing em. For example, Weezy, hes constantly on them, making great music (im not a fan of the singing and autotune songs tho)
I'm just saying, he has been on drugs this whole time, making great albums, and all of a sudden makes a some shitty ones and blames it on the drugs, when in all reality hes been on them for a "minute" and was making great hits.

Having a life threatening addiction to drugs is different than just taking drugs.

Okay I understand that, though that should have not affected 2 of his albums.
Encore i was on drugs, relapse i was flushing them out.
So why was Relapse so shitty- for the most part
and wasnt he on drugs on all his other albums.

Many people go through this also, Drugs are drugs.. he chose to do them, so if he didnt put out his best for some time period, that is completely his fault.
Having a near death experience with drugs is nothing special either, it was some day he took too many.. okay one day. cool. made him fuck up for how many years?

I think he's falling back on the drug thing for Relapse...I dont think he was flushing them out, he was perfectly fine but doesnt want to admit he didnt put Relapse out the way it should've been...But I liked Relapse so whatever, fuck Eminem's opinion lol. Em is only human, cut him some slack

He was talking about it cuz ppl were asking him, and besides, it's the truth anyway. Drugs fucked him up so why shouldn't he be allowed to talk about it? He was on drugs before but not to the point of addiction that he almost died cuz of taking too much, plus Proof's death must've made it worse too, but he wouldn't wanna take Proof's death to blame for his fucked-up life so instead he blamed the drugs, its easier that way.

Being on drugs and being addicted to drugs are totally diffrent things......I use to do coke, alot, and in the beginning I could function, go to work and school, stay out and party, etc etc....... 2 years into it I was a train wreck, Drugs wear you down to the core if you do enough of them for a long period of time, Hence, when he did the SSLP, he was doing drugs, by the time he got to Encore, they could have gotten to him......, I dont know the man but that theory is plausible

but he had to take drugs or he wouldn't be the person he is today. There would be no slim shady or don't give a fuck without drugs. there would be no recovery or not afraid. think about it. its a blessing he did drugs. Now its all over and he has a whole career still ahead of him. he will break past 100 million because of this.

he 'needed' drugs for the whole relapse / recovery phase of his life.

The earlier albums he didn't need drugs for. He used them recreationally, sure, but I feel like people on this forum can't differentiate between recreational drug use and going through addiction and relapses and withdrawal and therapy and almost dying etc.
