Forgotten essentials

How come the element of scratching in hip hop has been almost forgotten.
Scratching is like the essential of the dj trait, and wat makes a hip hop beat a hip hop beat. Also many of the producers completely forgot about hard baseline beats and rhythm.
The whole B-boy, and "MC" attitude was too forgotten... too... thank god the undergound still keeps it raw, although they are too trying to be more comercial and are probabely gonna start doing the same typa shit.

It turned from a guy with a mic to sum guy that just touches ass in the videos.

I mean like i understand that there should be variety of styles and all. But its not good to forget the most important traits of hip hop.

How do you guys feel bout this.

Maybe it's because of the development of technology and fact, that there are a few producers which are so popular - if u need a beat you call Dre, Just Blaze or Timbaland. All of them have their own styles, so if there's for example 10 good and well known producers you have 10 types of beats which can become boring after a while..
I've noticed that there's no scratching too [as for the contrast - they use scratches in every polish rap song.. which can be boring too]. Dunno why, maybe the reason is that rap is overloaded by electronic.. :p

It doesnt sound worse if its done right.

The fact is ... right now computers are easier to work so producers are getting lazy.

Im not saying they have to be used 100% of the time, but i mean it has to be used every once in a while.

The beats nowadays sound no different from pop beats, im sorry to say/

yeah that's true about the scratching, have been noticing that for a long time.
biggest hiphopgroup in my country does use scratches, but hiphop ain't mainstream here.

commercialism sucks. mainstream sucks, this is what it does to hiphop.
