Recovery is Eminem trying to recapture the magic and only having occasional success.

If you think Recovery is even in same league as TSSLP, TMMLP, or TES...you need mental help. Recovery is a dope album, but come on. None of the former 3 albums feature the dozens of corny punchlines or shot-voice shouting rap that Recovery features.

TSSLP, TMMLP, and TES were effortlessly genius albums. On Recovery, you can tell he's working at it...but he's still not quite the same guy. I think part of it is age, part of it is the drug use, and part of it is that he doesn't have as many things to inspire him anymore.
