I've never been into old school beats as much as the ones in the early 00's or even the ones now, so it would definitely be an album from '99 or later, but I'm really not sure..

I'd have to do some serious thinking and listening to figure this out.

Best instrumental album for me would be J Dilla - Donuts, over 30 amazing beats made by Dilla on his death bed, amazing stuff especially considering the circumstances it was made under

But my favorite instrumentals for an album that contains vocals would be Raekwon - Only Built 4 Cuban Linx....
Took me awhile to realise how genius RZA's beats are on there, the Bing Crosby - White Christmas sample on Ice Water is epic
Honorable mentions would be everything RZA touched from 93-97, Dr Dre - Chronic, and Quasimoto - The Unseen
Same sword they knight you they gon' good night you with
Sh.., Thats' only half if they like you
That ain't even the half what they might do
Don't believe me, ask Michael
See Martin, see Malcolm
You see Biggie, see Pac, see success and its outcome
See Jesus, see Judas; see Caesar, see Brutus
See success is like suicide
Suicide, it's a suicide
If you succeed, prepare to be crucified

Stoupe is the SHIZ!

+ 2 Stopue is a beast behind the boards, he released an album with somebody from Portishead this year that slipped under the radar, the production on it is top notch though

This interview is a good read for Stoupe fans, seems like a really shy, but cool dude

And I was going to quote this too and say the same thing. RZA produced some amazing tracks in Liquid Swords and Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... Havoc's dark and grimy beats in The Infamous are very memorable such as Right Back At You. Moment Of Truth beat-wise is flawless for me.
