though from what i've heard this year, i'd be pulling for big boi's album,
and question - has em ever been awarded album of the year?

I don't think any rap album has won it.

There's really been no other huge mainstream albums this year that will get consideration.

Eminem, Drake, and most likely T.I. will get some nominations. The Grammys seem to love Eminem but I could see Drake getting it.

In my opinion it didn't win because... it didn't win.

Late Registration was clearly a better album and won.

Yeah Em will win best rap album, I'd give it to the new Big Boi album though
Same sword they knight you they gon' good night you with
Sh.., Thats' only half if they like you
That ain't even the half what they might do
Don't believe me, ask Michael
See Martin, see Malcolm
You see Biggie, see Pac, see success and its outcome
See Jesus, see Judas; see Caesar, see Brutus
See success is like suicide

It really but really pissed me off when Relapse won "Best Rap Album", Mos Def or Q-Tip at least should have taken it, they deserved it more although I was still happy for Eminem. The Grammys are fucked up, Recovery is very likely to win it if Relapse did. The Blueprint 3 will be its main competition but none of these two deserve it either. Raekwon's Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... Pt. II deserves the "Best Rap Album" for sure and all Hip Hop heads know that. The album falls in the 2011 Grammy Awards eligibility period and it's probably the most critically acclaimed rap album since September 2009 up to September 2010 which is the eligibility period. Unless someone else releases a master piece. Big Boi also seems to have some similar critical acclaim.

Blueprint 3, TML, Recovery. The Grammy is intense this year. It's obvious that the most successful out of those 3 will win. Whoever think about quality may forget it already, it's who sell the most that will win :y:
