I honestly think so.

I listened to some Relapse and I think one day it will be looked at as a great lyrical concept album.

I think... Maybe in like 10 years. When all the people who just judged it so harshly as it was his comeback album or didn't get the conceptual nature of it, maybe.

Although I really think it polarizes taste too much with the sound. It's ALMOST a classic to me though. It's just "Beautiful" and 'CAB' that fucks it up for me. And I'm surprised by how much two tracks can tarnish it in my mind. And the reason why is everything else sounds so... Fitting, it all works as one sound. And then those two just stick the fuck out. Badly.

But it is very unfairly overlooked in terms of its lyricism. And its flows. It's just mind-blowing. And I'm actually annoyed I didn't get to hear the best material of the 'Relapse sessions'. He should of put out R2 anyway then gave us Recovery too.

Or just put out Relapse as a double-album to begin with. I think it would of been received better too. With a build up and that many songs to really sink in the theme.

Maybe in the future I'll appreciate the album more than I do now, but I'll never regard it as a classic

It's not just about multis, other rappers don't touch the sides of the type of lyricism on Relapse.

The rhyming is by the by, it's amazing but what's truly special is the way he chooses to go about ideas. The character-play, the tongue in cheek, the... Everything that makes him him.

what concept? so in 3am, stay wide awake, same song & dance has the murder theme, but what about bagpipes from baddah, medicine ball, underground, old time sake.. what concepts are in those? sound like random lines thrown in together with uncatchy hooks & wack accent to me.

there has never been a more perfect album with multi's

SSLP had better multies.

On topic, not classic. But very very good. I think it'll be appreciated more over time.
