Hi there, never really post here, just thought i'd share my thoughts...
I was recently on a hip hop news site and read this, quoting Lord Finesse on Big L's situation after his death:
"Okay, off the record, Big L’s moms, [Gilda “Pinky” Terry], raised him, his whole life. His father abandoned him. Since he was a kid, just straight never was in his life at all. No Christmas, no Thanksgivings, none of that. No birthday cards, none of that. When L passed and this dude, this fuckin’ faggot pops, found out how popular he was he now wanted to become a part of Big L’s life, and fought to get royalties and stuff that was really due to his moms. Now [two years ago], Pinky passes, who’s Big L’s moms. So now, since he’s the father, even though he’s never been there, [for his] kid’s whole career, his whole life, by law, and by blood, he’s in charge [of L’s estate] now. And I can’t see none of my blood, sweat and tears and efforts being put together for some dude to get credit that was – You ain’t even claim this kid as your son."
Now to my point. I've heard around here and other places that Debbie Mathers is very ill right now, which means she may or may not pass away sometime soon or in the future.
After she's gone, Eminem's dad may try and get in on some of that cash he's wanted since he found out his "son" blew up. Once Eminem passes, the only one left may be his dad.
Knowing this, I doubt Dre or whoever else who controls Eminem's music would want to pay that scumbag (his dad) anything so we could NEVER get the unreleased material we all talk about.
I'm not familiar with Big L so I don't know if he's got children or not, so I don't know if his kids could've gotten the royalties, but will Hailie get those royalties, or you think his dad will legally fight for those royalties as well? I know this is kind of like a "What if" situation, but it's gonna come to it eventually, more than a "when" than "if". Your thoughts?
