Change is almost always met with animosity, at least initially, and this album is def eminem doing a lot of firsts and things differently. After people let it really sink in and get over the new beats/producers/features i think the consensus will call Recovery a classic.
Predominantly, predominantly, everything's always predominantly
Predominantly white, predominantly black
Well what about me? where does that leave me
Well I guess that Im between predominantly both of em
I think if I hear that fuckin word again Imma scream
While I'm projectile vomiting, what do I look like, a comedian to you?
Do you think that I'm kidding?
What do I look like some kind of idi- wait a minute, shit, don't answer that..

Yes I think it will be. Judging by the fact most people have been saying it is already, Em fans and casual hip-hop fans from what I've been seeing.

Which I think is rare. If you're calling an album a classic from the get-go then it'll likely be considered one in years to come. Too bad the critical consensus doesn't seem to match the fans'.

YES. This will be remembered as his epic comeback album, fortunately not that many people knew about Relapse.

Depends on how you define classic.

We can only guess but I think it will be remembered as a solid album. People will still measure it against his early albums in which category Recovery fails.

A lot of it depends on how well the singles do on the charts though. Not afraid and LTWYL have already done very well - the latter without a video so far. No love will be another memorable track for many people while I can see Space bound and a few others become hit singles.

I think when we look back on this era it will be remembered as a classic Eminem era, the success of Recovery already speaks for itself.

I just went and lsitened to my favourite Relapse track Stay Wide Awake and I'm surprised how underwhelmed I was after not listening to it for a long time. I guess that says alot about Recovery.

No way. His lyricism is nowhere near his first 3 albums - all classics. It's a good album, with some nice concepts but his rhyming isnt good enough for it to be considered classic, for me.

Sooooo many corny punchlines and the duds in WTP, Not Afraid and WBD. The overkill on punchlines really lets in down - especially as so many are weak as hell.

Also that flow where he finishes the last word of a sentence on the next bar. That's overused and kinda lazy.

For 11 years into his career it's a solid enough album but a classic? Nah.

If not afraid and wont back down are duds it shows how good the album is.

WTP could be considered filler alright but it just adds to the variety on the album.

Not Afraid>>>>any of his other 1st singles(which would make them duds aswell right?)
